Alexei Kovalev getting his hands dirty in pre-season

Didn't really care about this one but looking at things with today's perspective. It's pretty crazy to see Koivu vs Gomez old #11 vs new #11...wish we still had the old one with us

Probert socking Barrasso and McGwire (?) in the head isn't the surprising part, mind you, it's that Yzerman (foolishly) jumped a goon.
Probert was upset that Maguire had retaliated on the Wings goalie after he himself had run Barrasso twice earlier in the game. Gallant went with him, and then Yzerman went after him near as they were trying to get him off the ice. It was crazy.

Watching Doughty get his ass handed to him by Joe was classic.

Joe slapped him, Doughty got bambi legs, then Joe helped him get his balance and knocked him around until the ref save. It was great.

Grant Marshall's knock down punch on Tie Domi. It looked as if Domi slipped, but what actually happened. Marshall got a beauty punch in, and Domi went down.

Weight fought 3 times that year, very weird.

What an odd rivalry.

he's done it a few times in his career, but the first time Sid threw down with Andrew Ference a few years ago was pretty shocking as a Pens fan. He is gritty at times, but nobody would have thought he'd drop the gloves. And he held his own to boot.

also, Geno against Rick Nash in the preseason last year.

and to add somebody that's not on my team, Kovalchuk's dust up this year was pretty surprising. Again, he did alright for himself for somebody that doesn't do that a lot

This was exactly the one I had in mind when I clicked on this thread. Kovalchuk looked like a pro ragdolling Schenn first, then trading swings until he connected square on the jaw.

Never expected that Ronald Petrovicky, a 5'11" 185 lb Slovak, could throw like this:

Considering his wicked hip checks he oughta be really good at distributing his weight into actions while maintaining his balance
