What about Brian Savage? What has HE done for the Yotes lately? And the Yotes still owe him a ton of cash.
He can be replaced by a number of players (Taffe, Sjostrom, Chimera, Cleary, Kolanos, Nash) Pretty much anyone on the roster who makes less money. He was a horrible signing and a player who shouldn't find another job in the league. He's AHL material now.
I agree Boucher needs to be upgraded but Johnson is a siev too. As a 1-2 punch the Yotes should just play the hot 'tender and wait for LeNevue to develop.
Yeah.. i forgot about Savage..
i like the "younger generation" ..Sjostrom, Taffe.. and so on..
Haha. Good luck. Try a mid-round pick for either of them cause that's all their worth. If you think someone else is going to give up a top-4 defenseman just to replace them with an overpaid, aging player like Rivet or Brisebois, you're seriously dreaming.
That all depends. A team that needs a veteran preasence and experienced player would probably take on someone like Rivet. He brings alot of character to the team and the players look up to him. He's overpaid, yes totally I agree. However, most people would miss him once he's gone, just like how they will definately miss Quintal.
Leetch, McCabe, Belfour, Nieuwendyk, Mogilny, Roberts, Nolan, Domi. With the exception of Belfour who has a big contract, all of those players could be traded in time for a cup run without any long-term obligation. Works for me. Time for some young blood on the Leafs.
Well for the Habs I wouldn't really wouldn't care if Brisebois, Rivet, Sundstrom, Dagenais or Dykeuise got traded away, not that i don't like some of them just woulnd't bother me if they got traded for different reaons.
LeClair, Amonte, Brashear, Burke, and maybe Desjardins, depending on how he plays if he can stay healthy for maybe 10 games in a row. He needs to stick with hockey. No more playing catch with the kids!
Leclair actually played some inspired hockey last year and stayed relatively healthy. If it wasn't for his salary, I'd definitely keep him around as we already lack depth on wing.
Rico's lost a step in recent years, but he's still an effective defenseman when he isn't getting in the way of JR pummelling Sundin.
It's the contract that I mostly want to disappear. I still love the guy for his past achievements (Legion of Doom ), but we can't afford to keep him on. Now, as for Brashear and Burke, they aren't bringing much to the table at all. I'll pack their bags for them.
