As he tweeted:

That means somebody drops, Sykora perhaps? let the speculation begin.

Already confirmed to be Sykora from both the Devils beat writers.
Josefson is playing with Poni & Clarkson.

Where does that put Henrique?

Parise - Zajac - Kovalchuk
Henrique - Elias - Zubrus
Ponikarovsky - Josefson - Clarkson
Carter - Gionta - Bernier

Sykora was the extra guy in practice today, but does that 'definitely' mean he's sitting out tomorrow?

Parise-Zajac-Zubrus (ZZZs!)
Elias- Henrique- Kovalchuk (really like this line..)
Poni- Josefson- Clarkson
Carter- Gionta- Bernier

Like them.. alot.

might be the first time all year I'm 100% okay with the lines.

ZZZ's have obvious chemistry and Kovalchuk works well with both Henrique and Elias. Henrique and Kovy are getting loads of scoring chances but not converting so I think this will get Elias going.

Sykora being out sucks but Josefson is a better player and we need goal scoring right now desperately.

Sykora has been looking his age, sadly. He had a great season, but he hit his limit in the Philly series.

EDIT: I hope giving him a game off does what it did for Kovy: come back pissed off, and play with purpose.

Pete won't stay married to these lines!

I have been just as disgusted with Elias, but Patty with Kovy was probably a better line in the brief time than Zach, and Kovy ever was.

You can't bench Elias cause he's the better player, but he's been as BAD.

Sykora is incredibly streaky. He was all season. He has been most of his career especially post 00-01. Seemed like he was scoring every game in the last two weeks of the season. I still want him back next year. I think he can produce maybe 20 more next season? Don't laugh at me. People on here laughed at me for saying he would score 20 goals this season the day he was signed in October before the season started, but I was wrong. He scored 21! We can't afford to wait on him to see if he will snap out of the slump though. Our time is running out.

This is what I'm saying. Sykora has been extremely streaky his whole career post our 01 Cup losing run. I hope to see him back next year as he helped make Patty, and Zubrus more productive. Zubrus best season points wise in his 5 with us were this year. I think Sykora can score 15-20 goals again next season which is more than I'm convinced Tedenby will.

Like I said though we can't afford to wait on him. In the regular season we did, and he slowed down incredibly between January, and March, and he awoke the last two weeks of the season, and he also was slow productively starting the season. We can't afford to wait, and see when he'll snap out of it though. Our time is running out.

Agree with the move. Love Sykora's shot against the Queen, but he's not doing much beyond that. Yayo has fresh legs, moves faster, and will likely forecheck better. Have to go with that.

He is the odd man out, doesn't mean anything against him but right now he is the weakest link and a message needs to be sent and change needs to be infused in. Definite fan of this since it keeps our monster 4th line together.

I love Sykora like I said. He's a good option to bring back next year while we still have Patty, and Zubrus, and he had a great season, and earned himself another contract. It's only because he's sucked in these playoffs most people wouldn't wanna see him back next year.

He's been bad these playoffs other than a couple good games against Philly, and even a nice save he made himself at the crease when they were in our zone. He's always been streaky all year. He seems to hit a rut every few months, and after having a GREAT GREAT GREAT last two weeks of the season he's seemed to have hit that rut right now in the playoffs. We can't wait for him to snap out of it, because it might be too costly at this point. I love Sykora though, and would like him back next year. 21 goal scorer is something we could use again, and I think he can get 15-20 again playing with Patty, and Zubrus, and on the PP and I expect him to have his droughts next year too. He comes at a damn good price. I think Parise called it a freebie at the beginning of the season? We just can't take any chances these playoffs.

100% right. Sykora is a big reason we made the playoffs, he had a great season, no one should forget that. Right now though we need to try a different look and he is correctly the odd man out. I hope we win (we damn well should) and he gets another chance in these playoffs though.

I love YaYo but it is going to take more than just the addition of someone who has not played game speed in three months to turn the tide.

Yup, and I love the guy, but we can't wait on him right now. It's what's best for the team right now. I think he'll be back if we can pull ourselves out of this series.

I don't think it's about turning the tide. Just replacing the slowest player on the team.

Our middle six is completely stagnant. It's not about Josefson himself, it's about having a fresh, youthful face in the line-up and the exuberance he brings. Strong and fresh legs might be the spark we're looking for.

Sykora, for all he did in the regular season, provides nothing at the moment.

its just that sykora is not the type of player for the type of system we're playing now. we need to have speed

Now we will lose 6 to 0 lol.

Sorry lundqvist getting too much credit. Fans at garden shouldn't chant henrik after a save they should chant the name of the company who makes his chest protector and pads. Object of that equipment is to prevent injury not to stop the puck
