I think Marty's reaction was more due to surprise than anything else. He was not expecting Rupp to take a swing at him, and that caused him to recoil in an exaggerated fashion when Rupp did.

Both fanbases seem to only agree on one thing: Lundqvist has to steal two more wins for the Rangers to advance. That's a lot to ask of a goalie, but we all know he's capable of it. Come on, Devils. This is almost as big as winning the Cup. Beat these Rags.

Just some food for thought.

I hope Rupp doesn't get suspended, and I hope Cam is out there next game
Janssen?

I'm hoping this game was a turning point for the Devils. They played so well, and the lineup seemed perfect.

Was about to repeat this. 3 games left and it is basically the Devils vs Lundqvist and who flinches twice. It does seem the shot blockers are starting to get worn down, or we are just figuring out how to get more past them because that was even less of a factor today then it has been all series.

Why on earth would we break up our awesome fourth line and play Janssen?

I don't really want him playing, just kind of a wishful thinking to have someone mess Rupp's face up.

I don't want the lines broken up, just Rupps face.

Getting traffic in front of Lundqvist seemed to work wonders today. Maybe blocking shots isn't as big a deal when there are Devils there to whack at it?

Any video of the Henrik chants? They were insane tonight. The first one, after the Salvo goal, might've been the loudest that I've ever heard the Rock. How were they on TV?

He was excellent. Definitely should stay in for next game, with apologies to Sykora. Can't argue with the way he played and the result.

The next time Janssen and Boulton should put on their uniforms should only be to skate on the ice with the cup. Otherwise they watch and help the team out in practice

I want someone to mess Rupp's face up too, but it can wait until next season.

From the all-mighty Tonythegr8 who whines about people ranking on Lundpads..

Also..Rupp punching Marty in the head? Good for him. Screw that fat piece of **** Brodeur. He's had a punch in his head coming ever since Avery ran him over 5 years ago. It was probably uncalled for, but whatever. More power to him.
They mad. They scared.

I think playing for the Rangers has some sort of corrupting influence on players. Rupp wasn't anywhere near this bad when he was a Devil, and we've seen how things go for players who go from the Devils to the Rangers before (Holik, Gomez, etc.)

It was dumb, but Del Zotto is on of the 3 that Torts beats like a rented mule (Staal, McDonagh).

It was also dumb to bench your top goal-scorer for 2/3 of the 3rd period when trailing by one goal.

Rupp was thugging it out, but that shove on Bernier was gold, Jerry, gold The way Bernier falls is highly amusing. Someone needs to tell Bernier about something called gravity, that jump was not smart

Yeah, that's exactly what he wants. He wants us to run at him, and get called for stupid penalties. Or for our guys to get out of position on defense or offense because they're distracted by him.

We should ignore him completely. Just like we did the Flyers shennanigans. Most teams I wouldn't have confidence that they could maintain their composure - but I have a lot of confidence in this group, they are very disciplined. I don't expect them to play Rupp's games.

He's a 35 year old SAH defenseman who suddenly turned into Bobby Orr. No idea what the **** happened but I'll take it!

Hmm...should we start calling him "Bryce SalvadOrr"...?

Marty definitely embellished, but that's what every single goalie in the leauge does in that situation. It was a delayed penalty. When the play is live I don't like embellishing, sometimes players and goalies take themselves out of plays because they're embellishing. I hate that. But I have no issue with it here, there was zero risk. Literally there is not one goalie that would not embellish in that spot, trying to get a (very deserved) penalty.
