This is done by people on these boards im pretty sure. I would love to get my hands on a list made by our management to see who they value the most.

Holmgren does his list weird.

Two offseasons ago his top choice was Kalinski.
An offseason ago his top choice was Holmstrom.

No offense what-so-ever but I think his list might be most ready nhl players and I would take a list from his team over any person writing on here. I do appreciate the stuff you guys write though and read it all. Homer was a scout before too and knows his players pretty well

Flyers need to just draft best player available with every pick. Teams really mess themselves up trying to draft for position. If this Galeychuk (sp) drops because of his injury and the team docs say he can overcome this injury then we have to pick him up if he falls to us. Just too much value not to do it.

Oh, I agree, but I'm demonstrating that Holmgren's list is not based on talent or potential.

Believe it or not, compiling a list based on talent, potential, skillset, pedigree, NHL-readiness, and other factors is not the easiest thing in the world.

Working for HF is pretty thankless. I enjoy it, but people are not going to agree with you even a majority of the time. In reality it's entire purpose is just for people to have something to talk about.

Unfortunately they only allow for a list twice a year. The top 20 list in reality is much more dynamic. Holmgren's list is the same way. Look at where Kalinski is now as opposed to two years ago. Meanwhile both Rinaldo and Zolnierczyk and others seem to have been more NHL-ready than Holmstrom, who Holmgren was recently throwing around as the top.

My list right now would look different now in all honesty.

Well if its a thankless job, I will give you a thanks for the time and work you guys all put in.

Do you have that list you were talking about with Homer or is it just based on who he calls up and what he says?

The lists are posted on this prospects thread. I forget the list and rummaging through the threads would be pretty tedious. If you want to, you're more than welcome to, but it'll take a couple hours at the very least.

I only remembered the players he'd had at the top.

Agreed. He can play RW as well so it's not like we would be taking another center straight up.

Phantoms had a bad game against Binghamton Senators. Bacashihua let in 5 goals in just about half a game and was replaced by Backlund (who made his first appearance for the season, I believe). Backlund stopped the remaining 15 shots from the baby Sens, but the Phantoms couldn't muster much offense and lost 5-2.

Kevin Marshall was -3 and received a game misconduct for a slashing when the score was 3-1, so that doesn't look too good. Jason Akeson was -4, the only Sens goal he wasn't on the ice for was a short handed goal. Jancevski, Testwuide and Roe was all -3. They fell short against the line of Nikita Filatov - Derek Grant - Mark Parrish who scored 4 goals (Parrish 2, the others 1 each) last night.

Brayden Schenn had an assist on a pp goal late in the game, 2 shots and -1. Sestito had both Phantoms goals.

Joy to the world!!!!! It appears we may be able to send Lilja to LTIR and get MAB up w/ the big club long-term as the 6th (7th when Gus gets back) defenseman.

I could not believe my eyes when I just found out that Tom Sestito is 3rd in scoring with 12Pts in 17 games for the Phantoms so far.

How did that happen?

Sestito is a decent player. He's not like a typical scrub. He's not that great a fighter either for his size.

Apparently the Leafs are pursuing Sunshine according to retweet from Meltzer. I guess they figure they don't have enough youth in the tender system.

I also read Marshall is getting another shot this afternoon.

Mostly his last few games. To start the year he wasn't doing much but I think Rinaldo Schenn and Harry Z leaving opened up more playing time. Holmstrom has really been coming on to it as well after a slow start. Unfortunately though the rest of the team has really fell off.

Lilja is out 6 weeks with a high ankle sprain.

Marshall is on his way/at MSG now and will be available for the game today.
