So Doughty should be fined for his disrespect for the official last night too, right?

I have honestly never seen a bigger example of sore losers than the Coyotes, just unbelievable.

I think attempted physical abuse is a little more serious than the verbal abuse that Doughty gave the refs.

Doughty didn't throw his stick at them. Smith did.

Smith got hit in the head 3 seperate times by fast moving pucks during the game. I wonder if that had anything to do with being enraged? When you get hit in the face with a bunch of pucks, it could cloud your judgment.

I agree with your point on DMFD's tantrum, even though both calls that went against him he had a legit beef, it was still over the top and he could have really put his team down 4 minutes, he was probably somewhat close to getting an add'l 2 for unsportsmanlike. Credit to the ref for realizing this was a huge game and turning the other cheek.

Had they competed harder in Games 1-3, and were actually ever within shouting distance of winning the series, then the emotional outburst afterwards might be easier to understand.

They were never even in this series and chose to act childishly.

IMO, you can understand their "us versus the world" mentality and how it would lead to a more emotional outcome. In addition, any time the officials let a game get away with them by a series of poor decisions, the emotion gets amped up thru the roof.

But that needs to go out the window by the time of the postgame pressers.

I lost a **** ton of respect for Smith after this playoffs. Praised him all year cause of his record. It all started with the SHAW theatrics in the first round. Dude is a Grade A *********.

Doughty's theatrics were more distasteful than Doan's complaints about officiating. Hanzal yelling at refs at the end of the game was just unprofessional and Smith's stick slide is way exaggerated in this thread and not that big of a deal. Yandle and Smith's comments about the referees being out to get them were laughable.

Yandle and Smith should probably get $2 500 fines for their conspiracy theories about the refs. That's about it.

All this talk about 'losing respect' for so and so is funny. I'm sure you're breaking their hearts...

Kings fans, the team you like to cheer for won. Stop it with the sanctimonious holier-than-thou bullcrap. You'd be acting the same way if the roles were reversed and you know it.
If we had made the Conference Finals and lost I wouldn't be mad at all. As soon as we beat the Canucks I didn't give a **** what happened. As a long time Kings fan I always have this nagging feeling in the back of my mind that the Kings will completely fall apart for no reason and just get manhandled.

I was in Arizona for this game and one Yotes fan got so mad after the game it took three security guards to drag him away from me and my buddy. Lucky for him.

I actually met way more awesome Yotes fans than ******* ones and after this series I can still say they are my favorite of all the division rivals. Mike Smith is a total ********* though, but it is still kind of hard to hate him because **** did he make some amazing saves. IMO he completely stole game 4 for them and his game 1 performance is some of the best goal tending I've seen all season.

You might want to look up the word sliding in the dictionary.

I will say this, when a goaltender loses his glove, the play should be blown dead. It's a good way for a goalie to get his fingers sliced off by a skate or hand broken from a puck. Can't believe the NHL doesn't have that in the rule book.

because if it were goalies would be losing their gloves left, right and center.

haha right?

Trust me, I'm a goalie. We are a fickle breed. Anything we can do to get a whistle, we will do.

why? because he has a habit of throwing his gloves to get a whistle?

I've never seen Brown embellish to the point that he was on the ice for five minutes waiting on a misconduct to be called.

if you're comparing Brown to Smith, you're not going to like who is considered worse.

Yeah and I think DD was damn lucky he didn't get hit with a 10 for his antics. The whole "just got booted from the dance" argument still doesn't excuse Smith, Doan, and Yandle losing their minds because of "blown out knees," "hand passes," and "biased refs," and acting like a bunch spoiled children. Heck there have been 12 other teams so far that went through the same thing the Coyotes have and not a single one acted the way they did, and some of those have been a lot more heated than this series was...
