Can't blaim a loss on the refs, but they didn't help us.

Clean hit. Rozsival came across the middle with his head down and got leveled. Unfortunate injury on a hockey play. End of story.

Nice, freeze frame! Thanks for posting. Maybe all the nonsense posts about a "dirty hit" will stop....then again maybe not. This is HFB afterall.

If the officials and league were trying to keep the Yotes down "all season" they did an awful job of it by letting them get to the conference finals.

Phoenix just needs to not be a bad team getting their arses saved by their goalie every night.

You do realize "knee on knee" is not literal. Seldom do these dangerous hits actually have one players' knee hit anothers' knee directly.

And your still image prooves zip. From my point of view it looks like Brown's "knee" is the first point of contact AND he is lifting his elbow to make contact. Certainly his foot is past Roscival which suggests his leg is leading his body.

Sssshhhhhh...you are ruining that "league wants us to lose since we don't have an owner" conspiracy theory.

I've yet to see it decide a series or even come close to deciding one. Refs make bad calls, but it's been equally bad. No conspiracy

Yotes had a fantastic season, but the Kings have been by far the best playoff team.

Teams win playoff series, not officiating.

The officiating was bad both ways which is not something I like to see.

That said, the officiating was nowhere close to being the reason we lost.

actually if you watch the replay, brown hits 1st with the shoulder to shoulder, then a little bit of contact happens with the knee's just before brown gets spun around the opposite way.

Some players, who wear their hearts on their sleeves, made some misguided comments in the heat of the moment. Doesn't mean anything to me, as a Kings' fan, other than that they care.

Would more composure be the better part of discretion? Sure. But it fades. Tippet is a great coach, but he got it started with the officiating. A rare lapse in judgment from a first-class coach.

Everyone does realize that kneeing doesn't have to be knee-on-knee contact, right? It simply has to be knee-on-opposing player contact where the penalized player led with his knee.

Quote:
Rule 50 - Kneeing

50.1 Kneeing - Kneeing is the act of a player leading with his knee and in some cases extending his leg outwards to make contact with his opponent.
So claiming that "it wasn't knee-on-knee, it was more like knee-on-thigh" doesn't make it any better.

According to the rule, where was Brown "leading" with the knee? As others have pointed out, and the league obviously agrees, body contact was made, shoulder first. Not only that but Brown never changed leg position before or after contact was made, so his knee wasn't "extended" either.

I never said anything about Brown leading with the knee, simply that the idea that the fact it wasn't knee-on-knee somehow doesn't make it a penalty. Knee-on-anything is a penalty, assuming the player led with the knee or extended the leg.

But you see, Brown intended to lead with the knee, except he brought his shoulder forward to hide his intentions, which made the simultaneous contact of the shoulder and knee/thigh an actual kneeing. Penalty on the play, gone for life.

L.A simply dominated the Yotes. Forget the refs.

L.A out shot them every game

40-24
28-19
36-21
51-41

L.A. totally controlled the game in OT. It's such a shame that the Yotes were such sore losers having gone through the first two rounds.

Moreover shots tend to be skewed towards the loser.

Why?
If you're up you play more possession offence and shoot only when you have better chances. When you're losing you shoot more out of desperation.
