Anyone calling Brown dirty is ignorant. Dude is always near the top in hits, yet almost never penalized on a hit because he is clean. Even that hit last night was borderline at best. Yes he embellishes too much, though he'd stopped for a while, but otherwise he's as clean as they come.

I think a lot of the 'hate' he gets from opposing players is really frustration. Brown simply refuses to take part in post whistle scrums when he makes a big, clean hit. It seems to really get to players that want him to answer for it. He also doesn't respond when he's hit either. If you go back and look at how many times Doan laid him out this series watch how he reacts, he just pops right back up like nothing happened. He just doesn't get involved and it's frustrating to players trying to engage him.

What did Brown do? He played hockey. Some people don't like that.

This. I think this guy is one of the top 3 agitators in the NHL. He always has this weird straight face when stuff like that happens. He embellishes a lot but also draws tons of roughing calls in scrums because players are frustrated with him and they get more frustrated at how he doesn't respond.

It's crazy that a player who has never been suspended is being compared to Claude Lemieux. Is that a joke?

He plays chippy and has a very punchable face. I don't see what's confusing. Hell of a player though...

With all of this talk about "diving" and "embellishing" why is there no talk about Roszival's obvious and blatant dive earlier when Penner literally TAPPED him in the back of the leg with 1 hand on his stick?

Brown doesn't dive, but he does definitely embellish, which is why after they Smith slash, he got called for it (on one he actually didn't embellish). He chirps a lot, and gets under the other players's skin. He hits hard. And while he gets under the skin of the other team, he almost never lets them get under his skin. He gets them to continue after the whistle but almost never does himself, which adds to the aggravation.

Someone was saying Brown is the biggest diver in the league and I just wanted to show the Kesler tumbleweed in the first round. Brown has done nothing as egregious as that...ever.

He delivered a hit that knocked the Cryotes out of the Western Conference Final and sent them home. Wait, they were at home.

You're blind! Get with it. That was a clean hit and Brownie had absolutely no time to pull up on the whistle. The D. Morris hit was much more blatant!!!

Brown plays a hard game on the edge and gets under the skin of his opponents. Anyone who wouldn't want him on their team is straight up lying or has some blind hatred for the guy.

He's an agitator and a pest. When that kind of guy is on your team, you love him. Everyone who has said that 29 NHL teams hate him and 30 NHL teams want him on their roster is right.

I wish I could fit all of what you just said into a bumper sticker so I could stick them on every car at Staples Center

The CBC,NBC announcers said it was a legal check, TSN said it was a legal check and now with no suspension the NHL are saying it's a legal check. It was a shoulder to shoulder hit with incidental knee on knee contact. Get over it.

As for Brown, great players will always get hate, no matter who they are.

I think it's hilarious that people think Brown is dirty. The guy has taken more punishment than anyone during these playoffs and he still refuses to let it get to him. He hits hard, clean, and often, and doesn't get involved in scrums after the whistle.
