This is good news. Zucker was the first step to our bright future, getting him in a Wild Uniform, Granlund today! Crossing fingers for a real quality free agent signing or two now this off season, Coyle and Phillips after that. The pieces are hopefully lining up to fall in place for the Wild.

These are exciting times. We have waited a ling time for this.

That happened faster than I expected. He is now NHL Millionaire according to Iltalehti.

on kfan russo said part of his bonus is something like him potting 25ish goals and 35 assists, makes me think this is what they expect of him.

All I have to say...we're more than happy with how Koivu turned out...Granlund FAR out did Mikko in the same league at a younger age!

Also, having seen Granlund play, can't ever compare him to Bouchard in any way except size, as he isn't afraid to actually use his puck skills one on one against anyone like Butch always has been.

Because Gaborik was drafted to such a crappy team, he never had a chance...Granlund is the Wild's first true potential Calder candidate.

I could've misheard, but didn't he say 35 assists and 60 (65?) points?

I don't think anyone would be upset at that for a first season.

Was it Fletcher who said they're not expecting any inhumanity?

I expect him to have 30-50 points, IF he plays a full season in the NHL.

I wouldn't be shocked to see him spending majority of his first season in AHL.

I would. Barring injury in camp, he's a Wild roster lock IMO.

If the Wild don't think he's ready to take a center position, they'll play him on the wing until they think he is.

I bet the delay was because of that awesome personalized Granlund video to us, the fans.

If you think this is bad, just wait until Edmonton drafts Yakupov.

The AHL just wouldn't be much of a step up for him at this point. He's been playing against grown men since he was 17. He's as NHL ready a prospect can be.

I think that is a way too much for his first year, but i definitely see him reaching that a few years down the line. I'd be happy with 35 points this next year

It was better than that non-existent LaPanta video that delayed things.

I expect, if he plays a full season, he'll have AT LEAST 50 points on the year...I feel that's a conservative and safe number.

Imagine the tonal difference if LaPanta actually did do a video. In my mind, he's either spiteful, depressed, or drunk.

I wouldn't be happy with less than 50.

High end prospects like Hall, Nuge, Skinner, Duchene, Landeskog, etc all were able to hit 50+ points as 18 year olds (Hall would have if not injured). Granlund will be two years older and has faced tougher competition the last few years than they had at that point in their careers.

There is no reason we should be putting the brakes on the kid. Expectations SHOULD be high. He SHOULD meet them.

I just remember last year and the kind of point production I thought I would see and was very disappointed. I don't want to get my hopes up too high just to have a let down like usual.

But I will say on my NHL 12 GM mode Granlund did score 54 points his rookie season after playing in the AHL for two years. Also he was on a line with Stammer..

2011-2012: At least I give lots of credit for him clearing high school, army and all the media publicity in the same year. He had to do various different commercials and all kind of other stuff, that do not include hockey.

I think he will be very motivated to play with you next season and I wish he'll have enough time in Minnesota to practice and focus in hockey.
Hope he stays healthy. If so, he is capable to bring you some really nice options in your offense for sure.
In my eyes you will have a fresh and very motivated Granlund.
He knows, he's got a lot to proove and he will definitely work very hard to help you guys get in the play offs.
For sure he knows how keen Koivu is to have some succes with the Wild. There has been always something special in Minnesota for us Finns. Mikke comes from the northern part of Finland and I assume he feels more home with you, than anywhere else in the US.
I have my thumbs up for you.
