You should. If they're giving him 7mil a year, it doesn't look like that good of a signing anymore. Not that I think they are giving him THAT much, but they've been known to open the wallet a little too wide on occasion.
Congrats to Dorse, the boy who plays like he forgot to take his meds!
I was happy to see him take fewer stupid, poorly timed penalties. Of course being the NHL's PIM leader, he still managed to mix it up from time to time. He seemed a little smarter on the ice this year.
Does fantastic work off the ice in the community, too.
Last summer, I'd have been in the move him camp. He won me over bit by bit this season. I don't mind the terms, either.
I hope with his new contract came a stipulation that Dorsett fight less. I would say not at all, but that's not realistic with his style of play. If he can be more like Steve Ott I'd be ecstatic. 30+ points, ~5-7 fights, ~150 PIMs would be ideal. 19 fights for a guy his size making that money is just plain stupid.
Looks like an overpayment for his production, but when you throw in other factors, it's about right. 1.3 or 1.6 per year isn't that big of a difference I guess, I had him pegged at about 1.2-1.3 personally.
