I haven't been laughing this season. I watched because I like the characters and the early stuff, but this season blows so far.

Which at this point is fine with me. I don't expect them to replicate/match Harmon's humor.
I have to say I laughed out loud and rewound multiple times at Chang's, "Why did I do that?" at the end of the episode.

The fish farm owner's back story was pretty hilarious too; "I'm the last face that a lot of trout see. I'm not saying that the trout are a vengeful breed, but if they were...I'd probably be public enemy number one, heh heh."

What can you say. Season 4 hasn't yet hit it's stride like I find the other three seasons did, but it's still far more entertaining and creative than almost anything else on TV right now.

Hmm, yeah those parts were chuckle worthy. I don't think it got a genuine laugh from me, however. I still liked it best this season by quite a margin. Just not any deep gut laughs like in previous years.

No kidding. It's not even character development...more like regression. Season 1 Chang was hilarious but he started getting more annoying and less funny after he lost his job.

That's the only real problem I have with the show, though. I don't think S4 has been as bad as some of you seem to think, but it obviously hasn't been at the same level as S1/2.

This season hasn't been too bad, but it certainly hasn't been very good either.

It's unfortunate that they have taken both Chang and Pierce so far away from what made them likable characters. Britta was supposed to be fairly smart but now she's a complete ****up. The only characters who have retained their charm are Annie, Shirley and Troy. Even Abed is so far beyond the level that they should have taken him to that I don't find him that funny, sympathetic or interesting.

I found it enjoyable. Not very funny. At least not in a laugh out loud way. More of some strong smirks here and there. But it liked it overall.

Those ****ing show creators from Happy Endings **** up the last 5 minutes of every episode. Another good episode where they waste any chance of comedy in the last 5 minutes by trying to make it touching. Harmon would do it too sometimes but he could keep it funny at least. I don't watch Community to learn a lesson about friendship, I do it for the lulz.

It was a good episode, and I couldn't agree with you more. It's really getting annoying.

I don't see the problem. They've always had positive endings. In fact, Jeff used to end many episodes with a positively themed speech.

I'll criticize when it's not funny...and I had nothing to criticize last night. Very solid episode.

I really liked this episode, and the season has progressively gotten better.
But the whole 'people kiss my ass because of my rich daddy, so I like Greendale because they won't' schtick felt like it was airlifted from entirely different show altogether. The sentiment seemed true to Community's roots, but the writing was just lazy. I've never cringed watching this show until that scene. Just awful.

Classic Community episode. Loved it.

However, I do agree that they've been a little lazy with resolutions.

bit sappy, didnt mind it for not being the funniest episode, shows definitely taken a different direction. enjoyed cheng and troy in this one, and surprisingly pierce and abed. intrigued for the puppet episode next week.

Puppet episode should be good, although they don't usually have show previews in the closing credits. Maybe it's an "Arrested Developement" style of promo.
