I wouldn't mind trading it but only if it's to move up or to get a legit 2C that will help us next season and for 3-5 more. If we trade up I want into the Galchaynuk and Grigorenko picks.
I have to believe that BOTH picks are in play as trade bait. They need to fill the massive 20g hole left by Semin.

Dumba is a ****ing loss. He weighs 166. Either way he's not going to be picked. GMGM doesn't draft little guys.
He's also very young. That's a kid who hits like a freight train and still has a lot of growing left to do. That said he'd also have several years before he sees an NHL sweater.

Yeah cause the Caps need to wait years for the development of a player while their core ages. Sounds good.

He weighs 180, even that doesn't do him justice. He,s one of those guys who is much stronger than his size. You know how guys like oshie brown and backstrom aren't that big but are just freakishly strong on their skates? He's the same way and infant he's one of the strongest players I've ever seen on his skates.
When I watch prospects I like to see that there always getting better, Dumba always is he knew coming into the year he had some weaknesses and he knew that his team was going to be much much worse this year, he stepped up he was asked to work on his positioning he did pretty much anything they asked he accomplished.
Although not to the same extent I,d compare his situation to his teammate from last year rnh, if you were looking in from the outside it's easy to question them but if you actually watched them and know them it's very hard to. He,s an extremely focused leader already with an unbelievable work ethic.
There's no question whatsoever in my mind that he's going to be a stud
We get it you don't like Semin or the Semin lovers on the board give it a rest already
Don't be so sensitive Francis. I like Semin just fine. I've just accepted that he is what he is and he's not changing. His fans don't want to accept that reality.

It was more with respect to I opened up 3 different threads and in each one you were making comments about Semin not being the answer. lol
I get it. I'm just as frustrated with Semin but I'm also in the boat with if we had a system in place where we played offense it would help him and Ovie both. Its just my opinion that you don't pay him or Ovie the money you are if you're playing our system it takes away all the skill that gives them the 6.7 and 9.5 cap hits.

Should we accept the same thing about Ovechkin and Green now also?
For me if you draft someone and he is playing in the league in some form by not the next season but season after its a plus. Having said player being a part of the team fully by season 3 is what I'd want. At least at that pick range. Obviously with top 5 picks I want them playing in some role on my team the next year.
Do you really think the Caps are going to get someone at 11 or 16 that plays in the NHL anytime soon?
If they draft well it's entirely possible both picks could be in the lineup after next year. Saad was a 2nd rounder and saw NHL ice already. Couturier from 8th is already a key player for the Flyers. Hamilton looks like a lock for next year.
If its Faksa and Ceci I could see them both being on the 13-14 team.

Then what's the point of paying Nicky and Ovi 20% of your cap space if you are gonna waste their prime on players who might be good players in a few years?
Its stupid. GMGM has to believe there is ready players available or he's gonna trade the picks.

Semin happens to be a hot topic being discussed in multiple threads. What bothers you more, that Semin is being picked apart, or that I'm being brutally honest and not letting my "fandom" get in the way of honest analysis of the player?
We had a system where we played up tempo offense. It resulted in early round exits in the postseason.
This is where I don't get what some fans are seeing. Do you really think the system gave Ovechkin the fumbles? Do you think the system turned him into a player so predictable that the crappiest defenders in the NHL have a fairly easy time defending him? I'm fine with pointing the finger when it makes sense, but come on....
For what it's worth, I would much rather go back to something resembling the Red Wings system. Offense as needed with solid defensive capabilities. Sadly we don't have the personnel....thanks GMGM.
