He's going to Finland to play the last I heard.

The Leafs have 36 players under contract for 2012-2013. 11 players are RFA; 8 are UFA. In other words, if they were to re-sign all players with expiring contracts, they would have 55 players. However, during the season, players who are in junior do not count against the contract limit (50).

RFA
Franson
Fraser
Frattin
Greenop
Gysbers
Holzer
Kulemin
Mikus
Mueller
Rynnas
Scrivens

UFA
Crabb
Dupuis
Finger
Gustavsson
Hamilton
Lashoff
Rosehill
Zigomanis

Yes. He signed a one-year deal with Ässät in the SM-liiga for next season.

I believe we still would have to sign him by this seasons deadline. So it seems unlikely they sign him at this point.

Just a question. If Granberg plays in Sweden next year, does that burn a year of his ELC? I tried to look at Zibanejad as a comparable, and he didn't burn a year this year, is it the same for Granberg?

Well I dont think we would have to worry about the 8 UFAs, I can see us letting them all walk to be honest and Id be happy if we did. Only exception would be Crabb , I really like his play and he proved himself this past season. He gives 100 percent every shift.

Believe it's an age thing. If you are 20+ years of age during that year it burns a year of ELC..

Not 100% sure on that however. Granberg turns 20 in August, so I'm guessing it would count. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

What it would do, is allow his contract to slide in terms of counting against the 50 man yearly limit.

Komarov was drafted in 2006. How many of you are going to continue making this claim?

I have to hand it to Burke and Co' for the 2010 draft.

we didn't have our own 1st nor 2nd and they picked out some gems!

2nd Ross (traded for)
3rd McKegg
4th Grandberg (traded for)
5th Carrick (traded for)
7th Nicholls
