Sidney Crosby as a youngster question?

I recently seen that Sid was drafted in the USHL draft like 11th round or something in 2003. I had never knew that before. So I'm trying to figure out what all divisions or leagues Crosby was drafted into maybe at any point in his life.

2005 NHL Draft- 1st Overall by the Pittsburgh Penguins
2004 WHA Draft- 1st Overall by Toronto Franchise
2003 QMJHL Draft- 1st Overall by the Rimouski Oceanic
2003 USHL Draft- 11th Round

So my question is wasn't there a midget league or maybe one of the Toronto Youth leagues that tried to draft Sidney Crosby 1st overall maybe around 2001 or 2002. I'm not sure which league it was or which youth divisions even have drafts, but if anyone knows the answer to this please let me know. thanks guys!

WHA tried to start back up during the lockout. Obviously, it was a huge failure.

Sid wasn't taken 1st overall, though, Simon Gagne was.

Edit: Sid was indeed taken first in their entry draft, Gagne was taken first in their "inaugural" draft.

He was drafted by the Truro Bearcats in the MHL (Maritime Junior A). Don't recall what pick he was.

Toronto Toros I think it was going to be... WHA to compete with the NHL during the lockout.

Was he drafted by the bearcats or did they sign him to an AP card? Because I think at the time he played jr A for a few games he was 14, making him much too young to be drafted.

I'm sure the KHL tried to draft him at some point.

During the 2001 MJAHL Draft, the Bearcats picked 13-year-old minor hockey phenom Sidney Crosby[1][2][3] During the 2001-02 season, as a call-up, Crosby played a two-game call-up stint with the Bearcats.[4][5][6] Despite minimal playing time, Crosby still managed an assist.

The only non-printed source there is 4, which is this page.
I can't find what pick he was taken with though.

I've also found another source that claims he didn't record any points (this post), but it's a message board, so..
