spiders ... how to get them away

Ok I just moved and my room has a lot of spiders. I've been executing them with the electric swatter. Yet they keep coming back for more. Actually waiting for one to rear its ugly self so I can fry it. is there some sort of remedy because they're everywhere here. NOT chemical bombing the house would be good. I mean like, cheap, home mad remedies, etc

if you have spiders it means they are eating whatever bugs are in your apartment, I'd worry more about them

Here's a step-by-step way to get rid of spiders.

1. Gather up a bunch of them in a single room.
2. Give them a long ass speach about how what they're about to see could happen to them if they don't leave.
3. Eat the largest spider.
4. Take a few shots of your preferred alcohol.
5. Enjoy living without spiders.

Not apartment its a house. They aren't big buggers but they're small, and I see them everyday. the previous owners left this place without much pest control info or what was done to help stop pests. I live in western NY, occasionally see carpet beetles, etc... spiders the most. I hate them

I happen to be deathly afraid of spiders. I've found that Ortho Home Defense Max works pretty well. You have to spray it around both the inside and outside of your house (around the perimeter, like doors, windows, and anywhere else they can enter). It's supposed to not only kill them but also repel them from entering in the first place. Can pick it up at any local grocery store. It'll probably trap the spiders you already have inside your house, though.

And it smells like puke. But that's temporary.

I watched a small fly struggle to get free of a web that was on my window for hours today. I a came back a few hours later and the fly was gone and a huge spider was on the web.

I watched a scorpion rip a spider's legs off once. I've wanted pet emperor scorpions ever since to protect me.

Spiders of all kinds. Especially if I'm trapped with them in an enclosed area. Like my car. Driving down the highway at 70 MPH. Having one land on my chest.

There's probably a few different reasons why you've been seeing a lot.
It's been a much warmer spring earlier than normal throughout much of the US, bugs and spiders love that so they're more of them and earlier.

You mentioned the old residents didn't keep up well, if they were hoarders or just had a lot of crap, there was lots of dark, undisturbed hiding spots for them, with the move they likely lost those hiding spaces and are out and about more.

Cleaning really well, reducing clutter, and reducing other bugs will help lots. If spiders don't have food they won't move in, so you'll see the occasional one that wonders inside but it sounds like right now you're the new guy and they've been living there for a long time.
