Which goalie will be the best?

Assuming Gustavsson is gone (which I don't really want, but it seems inevitable). Between Scrivens, Reimer, Rynnas, and Owuya which goaltender will become a better goalie (with or without the Leafs).

IMO, I believe Scrivens>Owuya>/=Reimer>Rynnas for potential
but career wise it'll be Scrivens>Reimer>Owuya>Rynnas

(Don't think Owuya will hit his potential and Reimer is a safer bet to be a decent goalie).

Edit: I'm asking this because I'd rather sign a veteran goalie and have Scrivens back up, but I know it won't happen because management seems high on Reimer and he doesn't have a 2-way contract like Scrivens. So who do you guys hope is our future goalie/will be the best goalie?

Reimer has the head to be a solid number 1A or 1b.

Scrivens has the skill and technique.

Owuya seems to have the skill and dedication as well.

Rynnas the potential.

I really can't choose, I of course want Reimer to succeed because I like his humility and am a fan.. Although in the end I am a fan of this team so who ever get us to the holy grail, I could care less.

Scrivens is a RFA.

I voted for Scrivens, I believe we'll be going into camp with 3 goalies next season, hopefully Reimer and Srivens battling it out for the No. 2 job behind someone like Vokoun. With Scrivens being a couple of years older than Reimer I think he'll be given a real shot to steal Reimer's job.

What does this matter/what part of my post is it referring to? the fact that his contract is 2-way? because I'm pretty sure he'll still be waiver exempt next year...

I still think it's Reimer. But Scrivens is right up there as well. Followed by Owuya.

pretty amazing how fickle the fan base can be. people were so pumped about Reimer last year. they even made avatars and t-shirts and ****.

what a difference a year can make.

anyone want to buy a "KGM is our 1st line" T-shirt?

---------------YEARS GAMES
EXEMPT UNTIL 2 -----60

Exact part that I was referring to.

Scrivens was initially waiver exempt for two years or 60 NHL games, it has been two years.

I think Reimer will end up being the best of the bunch. I suspect we will have learned our lesson from last year and bring in another goalie, Vokoun or Harding, who at least have some experience in the NHL.

Long term, I believe Owuya has the best chance to be a top goaltender in the NHL.

He's bigger than Scrivens and has better reflexes than Reimer. He also battles very hard on second and third attempts. You'll never see him give up on a play.

The fact that he very quickly acclimated himself to the North American game, playing great in training camp and in the AHL in his first season, are really strong signs of the talent he possesses.

Ideally, you want him to play two more seasons in the AHL (especially since this past one was split between the Marlies and Reading). But in the long run, I would put my money on Owuya.

It's interesting how much can change in a year. I made a poll about this last year and just look how different the results are http://hfboards.hockeysfuture.com/sh...d.php?t=872853, although, this was in the middle of Reimer mania when he was on that killer run. I picked Scrivens then anyways. and I still pick him now.

I think Mark Owuya, he showed a ton of promise in his first season and will be brought along slowly, I think he emerges as the best of the bunch.

We'll know the correct answer in 3-4 years (possibly more) from now.

If we waited to figure out the correct answer for everything, there would be almost no need for HFboards since we wouldn't need prospect info, trade speculation/proposals, etc.

What's the fun in just waiting?
