Didn't he suck with Detroit in his final year and lost his job to Osgood?

Could be a midlife crisis. I'd love to go back in time and see Hasek play in this league again but I don't see it happening at 47with all the time he's had off

Well he had only one year off since his KHL season where he lead the league in shutouts, but I don't see it happening either.

wasn't he garbage - well, not garbage, but not good in his last season in the NHL?

a couple of years playing away from the NHL and a couple of years on his body makes him better now?

well, i'd love to see him but if he does, i expect nothing short of a disaster for him.

ECHL? Hasek play in the ECHL? You may want to re-think that thought.

Exactly, Patrick Roy should take this young unknown fella for a try out with the Quebec Ramparts

In Video Game terms... He predates the original Nintendo System release in North America in 1985 and he was a top level player the year the system was released in Japan in 1983... it was released in July and he played in the World Championship before the release so he basically started being a top level goalie before the NES was released!

The Macintosh Computer was released in January 1984, Hasek's career predates that! Hasek predates the computer mouse! The original Microsoft Windows was released in Novemebr 1985. Again Hasek predates that!

If Hasek could comeback to the NHL he would have played in the 84 Canada Cup, 87 Canada Cup, 88 Olympics, 92 Canada Cup, 98 Olympics, 02 Olympics, 06 Olympics, 08 NHL Season, 10 Czech Season, 11 KHL season, 13 NHL Season.... It would be absolutely incredible.

If he makes it (doubt it), he'll be a lock for the Masterton Trophy next year. At least for me.

They're looking for a veteran, not a dinosaur. This is obviously a joke. He was completely washed up in 2008. That was four years ago.

Three teams interested in a 47 year old? Yeah right. Remember when he retired after he won the cup in 2002. That was ten years ago. He's like a stench that just won't go away.

I legitimately lol'd.

And honestly, I wouldn't hate him on the Sabres.

Or at least at the rookie tryout camp.

Hasek can't be a goalie coach because no one else can do what he did. That being said i'd still love having him back even for a few games on ANY team. And i'd love it if he was a goalie coach. lol

Two years ago he led his Czech league to the championship.

Exactly a year ago he led the KHL in save percentage (but was swept brutally in the first round of the playoffs).

12 months off at his age would be huge. Though with his legendary training discipline, don't count him out.

20-30 starts and a .900 save perecentage isn't outrageous expectations for him next season if he returns to the NHL: a veteran backup who could hold his own. Only, is the price right? and what teams need that kind of veteran backup presence?

Not only that...personality wise there is NO way Hasek would take that kind of role as a coach. Hasek would probably consider it beneath him--if it's not about him, it doesn't mean anything to him.

Dom is one of the most unanimously liked goalies ive ever seen.

If he made a successful return it would be one of the greatest things...

I still don't understand this guy. I remember when he retired after the 2002 season and left $8 mil on the table and 10 years later, he still wants to play.

As a Sabres fan I think the Sabres would be better suited trading Miller for a top line forward and then going with Enroth and Hasek in goal.

You know how hard it is to leave a gf? Imagine how hard it is to leave essentially what was your life for 25+ years behind when you were so good for so long.
