Adding to what I said above, I wouldn't do Plekanec and 3rd overall for Kane. Forget adding even more like emelin.

Hell, I'd consider Plekanec, Emelin and a 3rd rounder for kane fair value. No way will it be 3rd overall and more. If Kane was about 6'1 and a center with that talent, we may have a deal. Unfortunately, habs need a #1 center, not a #1 winger. Add to the fact from a value perspective it's still rough. Like I said, I really like kane but complete opposite of what habs need.

We'll stay the course quite easily here. Kane is a good fit in chicago anyway.
If he was, we wouldn't be having this discussion.

If he was, we'd have another cup.

I personally don't want Patrick Kane in Montreal. His off-ice antics outweigh his one-ice performances and in a hotbed like Montreal, he couldn't survive.

Now if you want to trade Jonathan Toews, let's sit and talk...

Stands up, walks away, drives back to Chicago

Agreed. 15 points difference isn't much, though, not when the 55 point guy is a far superior defensive player and PK stalwart. The trade as constructed oversells Kane and/or undersells Plekanec to me, though. Either way. Easy "Pass" for the Habs.

I know, but habs won't win a cup with no center either.
