Dubinsky, Erixson and 1st believed to be 3 of 4 pieces included in Nash trade.

Rangers get Nash for peanuts.

NY teams always get what they want.

Clowe+Demers+1+Prospect is pretty much what that package amounts to yes? Would've easily done that.

Happy SJ didn't overpay, kinda sad he went for so little to someone else.

I wouldn't call what they gave "peanuts."

Dubinsky is a character guy that CBJ needs desperately. Anisimov is a decent 20-30 goal scorer, Erixson is a promising D prospect, and a 1st (will likely be high, but still a first).

The equivalent here would've been Pavs, Clowe, Moore/Petrecki, and a 1st.

Except

Pavs >>> Anisimov
Clowe > Dubinsky
Erixon > Petrecki
1st = 1st

I like the return for a 1-dimensional 30 goal scorer.

It really bothers me that Howson wanted Juicy from us for Nash and didn't even get one of Stepan, McD, Kreider, Del Zotto, Hagelin or Miller from the Rags. He really is the worst GM in the league.

True, but that is what Hoswon would likely negotiate from us. The divide between our top line and second is much smaller than the Ranger's

Erixon is also the guy that refused to sign with Calgary and they had to deal him instead of losing his rights. Yeah, that's exactly the sort of guy Columbus should be trading for after it worked out so well with Carter.

#CBJ also sending 3rd pick and minor-league defenseman to #NYR in Nash trade. Told defenseman is not David Savard.

I have to agree, the jackets get 2 good young forwards and a good d prospect in return, not a bad deal for either side.

I'd guess that this was the best or only deal the jackets were gonna make, i'd call it a win - win and be glad to get this off our boards.

Pavelski + Clowe is massively superior to Dubinsky + Anisimov. Dubinsky has basically zero value because of his contract, production, and injury status. He's almost a cap dump.

Also while Erixon is a good prospect, he's also a known discontent. Not something the CBJ need more of.

I refuse to believe that DW would be dumb enough to offer both Pavs AND Clowe for Nash... I don't see how Howson would not take that and run the second it was offered (assuming DW threw a 1st round pick in there as well)

I wonder if Howsen called DW right before he finalized the deal.

'Hey Doug, Sather is giving me all of these goodies. You sure you dont want to give me Couture+ ?'

His response probably was "How many times do I have to say no?"
