Bernier's agent better hope for a call from the KHL's Vityaz Chekhov this summer. Otherwise, it's Thetford Mines.

Anyone see his post game interview. Looked like he was crying for hours and was contemplating locking himself in a room for the whole summer.

Can you imange sitting there, in the LA locker room. After being ejected from the biggest game in your life... watch the other team score 3 goals agianst you, because of you.

Thats gotta hurt.

Actually feel kinda sorry for the smuck

Yeah, he screwed up, but overall he played well in these playoffs. The Devils got where they got largely because of his line's play. Management sees that and the Devils seemed very pissed off at the officials for missing calls on LA so I think that tempers it a bit too.

GMs see beyond one big screw up. Bernier will be alright. I'd actually like to see him back here.

Jimmy Kimmel had the Kings on his show last night and made a joke that Steve Bernier's name should be added to the Cup. What didn't surprise me is that hardly anyone in the crowd got the joke.

Bernier, while not a good skater, can hit and fight, and score garbage goals.

HE'd be a solid 4th line forward, that can fill in when top 6ers go down.

I too would like him back.

We got Stuey back, let's sign Bernier and Sturm and Carle and trade for Milan and Gorges!

It's always easy to say that years later. At the time Bernier was a very good prospect. In fact, he was a good NHL player for us and for Buffalo. He struggled with Vancouver and Florida and now seems to be a solid fourth liner. I actually wouldn't mind bringing him back.

Sign Cheech and roll the old Michalek-Thornton-Cheechoo line again!

Lou Lamoriello: “I’m just so proud of the way [Bernier] handled it after the game and what he said.”

Ilya Kovalchuk: “That fourth line that included Bernie was great and a reason why we were in the Cup Final.”

Peter DeBoer: “Steve was trying to do what we asked him to do and what he was very effective at doing the entire playoffs. I have no negative feelings toward that play.”
