Bourque in the NHL: 33 games, 1 goal, 3 assists.
Hamill in the NHL: 20 games, 0 goals, 4 assists.

Well, 1 goal is better than none, I guess.

Agreed...you think it would make for a hungrier player....I'm telling you many of the Providence callups this year seemed to fall flat on their faces...Caron got it going, and Camper looked good, but these guys were not ready to play for the most part.

Well when one is the progeny of one Mr Raymond Bourque and one is from Mr Hamill, there really is no contest...

How does this effect us on signing Nash, Parise, or Suter

They need to start with a wholesale line change in coaching down there. Probably won't happen, but it should.

The Rob Murray regime has unfortunately lived on through Cassidy ... And it's not a good thing. I thought giving the job to Cassidy was a bad move from the get-go. They needed a new voice and a fresh approach, and what they got was more of the same.

They're long overdue for some quality coaching talent down there. Lavvy, Sully, and Gordon all had the team playing on an entirely different level than crap we've seen the past few seasons.

The guys name is "Bourque." Good swap. Happy to have that family active in BOS.

...and if somehow it works out with the big club, ...big story.

Well I guess I'm wrong then

I just figured since he'll be an "older" player on a young team, he could provide some veteran leadership, but I can't claim to be overwhelmingly knowledgeable on anything that doesn't show up on the stat sheet.

Gordon isn't coaching anywhere, right? Sign him up.

Thank God. Hamill is terrible; at least this new kid can produce even in the minors. Meaning he at least has a little value.

It's a good sign for the offseason at least, got things off to a good start.

finally. This is the kid i wanted from last year.

At first it didn't make sense the caps would give up Bourque for Hamill alone, but i see its just for rights. I hope Bruins can sign him up.

If paille doesn't resign, i can see him fighting for his life for a spot on the 4th line and then we will see from there. Has a physical element to his game. Obviously can score points.

Definitely make or break for Caron this season.

Hamill, Colborne, and Caron in consecutive drafts really set them back, big gap in the farm system because of that.

Since Bourque is UFA July 1, this all but assures a strict prospect dump trade.

If I'm Chris Bourque, there is ZERO chance I stay in Boston.

I don't question Chia often, but why not at least get someone under contract?

No one wanted Hamill?

Because he sucks?

So this was the best he could do?

That's your comment?

When Thomas is moved for a 2nd round pick I am not going to go so quietly into the night.

Glad Chris gets to (maybe) play for the team his father did. I'm neutral on the trade. I don't think it makes much of a difference in the bigger picture.
