Unless Nash or jj is included, this proposal is heinous for Philly. Jvr and our 1 justify the 2nd. What about mez, 2013 1st, and read?

JVR, Bob, and the 1st is a reasonable offer for the 2nd.

What you suggest is an (slight) underpayment--given JVR's injury issues, inconsistency, etc.

I have no clue what the OP is. I'm pretty sure it is the same package he posted yesterday for Nash and the 2nd overall, so I guess he doesn't think very highly of Nash?

CBJ needs a little more incentive to pull the trigger.

This is a decent proposal for Nash + #2... Maybe Philly adds a project prospect.

That's a good package for next years' #2 overall when there are two franchise players in Mackinnon and Jones. The top. Two this year don't. Have that type of pedigree.

1. THat's sort of always what is said about "next year's" draft class--last year, Ryan Murray was a can't miss franchise defenseman and the second coming of Scott Niedermayer; Grigorenko was Malkin to Yakupov's Ovechkin, etc.

2. It is still an overpayment for a 2nd overall pick--

I don't see how Columbus makes this deal unless the Flyers either include Giroux or Schenn and Couturier.

But why would Philly trade for the #2 pick anyway? The only way Philly trades with Columbus this offseason, would be for Nash... Philly did the youth kick last year.

When did Mike Milbury joined the Flyers to accept such a horrible deal?

James van Riemsdyk is worth more then that pick on his own.

To draft Ryan Murray or Nail Yakupov, but hopefully Ryan Murray.

Murray is the real deal. Grigorenko =/= Malkin and Yakupov =/= Ovechkin.

2011 draft > 2012 draft

2012 draft < 2013 draft

yea but you don't have to trade all of that and go for like # 7 or so and get the same type of dman, everywhere I read its that all the defensemen are really even... I think who ever winds up with Morgan Rielly gets the steal of the draft

It is still an overpayment, but not as bad.

By the way, it is generally helpful if you put a note in the OP to indicate changes to the deal--otherwise it tends to produce confusion in the rest of the thread...where some posts are referring to a proposal that no longer exists.

Some fans have it in their heads that an 18 year old can replace Pronger.

...That's a pretty silly simplification, isn't it?

Perhaps you should try: Some fans recognize that this organization lacks a young, top-pairing defensive prospect to go their their stable of young, high-end forwards...

Dude no, all your proposals are so ridiculous. Are you sure you're a Philly fan because we get hosed in all of them.
