Since all these threads got merged, will put all mine here. I'll go from the easiest to the hardest for me to choose.

Video games: I don't play video games so that ones easy

TV Shows: I don't watch a lot of TV other than sporting events and some of my favorite shows are no longer on:

#1: Life
#2: 24
#3: The Office
#4: Lie To Me
#5: Drive-ins, Diners and Dives

Books: Tough choices as I read a lot, but not as tough as choosing Albums or songs.

Not in any particular order:
The Cruel Sea - Nicholas Monsarrat
The Harry Potter Series
The Sum of all Fears - Tom Clancy
The Silence of the Lambs - Thomas Harris
Timeline - Michael Crichton

HM: Too many to list

Movies:
#5: Big Trouble in Little China
#4: Joe Dirt
#3: My Cousin Vinny
#2: Die Hard (the original)
#1: Memphis Belle

HM: Princess Bride. Blazing Saddles

Albums:

#5: Warren Zevon - Excitable Boy
#4: Dave Brubek - Time Out
#3: The Naked Truth - Golden Earring
#2: Metallica - Garage Inc
#1: Pink Floyd - Dark Side of the Moon

HMs: Too many to list again, but I did list them earlier.

Songs: Almost impossible to pick a top 5 for me as it depends what I'm in the mood for. The top 3 are pretty much locks for me. The next ones change regularly.

#1: My, My, Hey, Hey (Out of the Blue) - Neil Young
#2: Bittersweet - Big Head Todd and the Monsters
#3: No Rain - Blind Melon
#4: Whiskey in the Jar - Metallica (like it better than the Thin Lizzy version)
#5: Tie between Seven Brigdes Road - Eagles & Sweet Child of Mine - GNR

HM (can be in the top 5 at any time): Behind Blue Eyes - The Who; Losing My Religion - REM; Twilight Zone - Golden Earing; Turn the Page - Segar; Celluloid Heroes - The Kinks; Yellow Ledbetter - Pearl Jam; Wish You Were Here - Pink Floyd; Under the Bridge, and Otherside - RHCP; Sympathy for the Devil - Rolling Stones; Load Out / Stay - Jackson Browne.

I'll add "Nothing Compares 2 U" by Sinead O'Connor and "Everything I Do I Do It for You" by Bryan Adams as honorable mentions to my top five songs list, just to show I have a sensitive side.

Going back on the topic of hockey since the Finals start tomorrow...

I'm gonna add in....top 5 favorite non-Canes active NHL players (Yes, I want these in order). Pick only one player per team though, and rank based on that.

1. Claude Giroux (jumped up here after the year he had)
2. Patrick Sharp
3. Zach Parise
4. Jonathan Quick (also made his way up here, especially after the playoff numbers he's put up)
5. Martin St. Louis

HM - NHL Player Derek Morris()

Top 5 Fave Non-Canes Players

5: Patrice Bergeron

Respect the way he plays the game, respect his two-way play, and overall I just like him as a player.

4: Dan Girardi

Shot blocking machine, tough as nails, overall a great player.

3: Marty St. Louis

Except when he plays the Canes, the dude's a joy to watch. Quick, smart, somehow manages to survive the league year in year out being so small.

2: Dustin Brown

I will say that this is NOT a bandwagon pick, I loved Brown before he ever became a national name this postseason. Hits, scores, leads the team, all at like 26 or 27 or whatever he is.

1: Pavel Datsyuk

Most talented player in the league, hands down. 2-way game, but would still be an All-Star even if he had a Semin-like relationship with the defensive zone. A true game changer in every sense of the word.

Honorable mention: Cal Clutterbuck

Sweet mustache, lots of hits. Offense is coming slowly but surely.

Man do I have some catching up to do! Like Discipline Daddy I'm just throwing down ones I love...I'm not even sure I could begin to really think of "favorites" or give a true rank ordering. I mean for some categories there's just a bunch of good stuff. Film for instance - I love Usual Suspects, but today I put Office Space ahead of it. Video games - used to love the No One Lives Forever series. Still do...but I was feeling Grim Fandango more.

Albums:

#5 "Dummy" - Portishead

#4 "The Night" - Morphine

#3 "O Brother Where Art Thou Soundtrack" - Various artists

#2 "Californication" - Red Hot Chili Peppers

#1 "The Color and the Shape" - Foo Fighters

Movies:

#5 Office Space

#4 The Empire Strikes Back

#3 Dances With Wolves

#2 Saving Private Ryan

#1 Platoon

Video games - there's a definite PC bent here as I was an unabashed PC gamer for years. Before I bought a Wii a few years ago, the only console I owned was an NES.

#5 Grim Fandango

#4 Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception

#3 Super Mario Bros. 3

#2 Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic

#1 The Last Express

Man, am I Mr. Esoteric or what here? Moving on...

Books - not even going to try to rank order these:

"The Night Circus" - Erin Morgenstern

"The Hunt for Red October" - Tom Clancy

"A Tale of Two Cities" - Charles Dickens

"The Great Santini" - Pat Conroy

"Kaffir Boy" - Mark Mathabane

Assuming you mean currently active players vs. all time favorites:

#1: Pavel Datsyuk
#2: Martin St. Louis
#3: Justin Williams
#4: Tim Thomas
#5: Mikko Koivu (Lidstrom would be my choice over Koivu if I you didn't have the "no 2 from 1 team stipulation").

All time favorites (retired and active):

#1 Steve Yzerman
#2 Pavel Datsyuk
#3 Martin St. Louis
#4 John LeClair
#5 Paul Coffey / Bryan Trottier (tie)

I intended for it to be active players, and I edited my earlier post to reflect that. As far as the Lidstrom/Datsyuk thing, that's the exact reason why I limited it to one player per team. Having those decisions makes it harder and therefore more fun.

Just curious, what is it about St. Louis that makes you dislike him (unless it's just that he's been a nemesis of the Canes for a number of years)? Don't get me wrong, if you don't like that guy that's fine with me, I was just curious as to the reasons why.

For me, he epitomizes the underdog player that I like to root for. Granted, he has a lot of skill, but he had to overcome a lot of obstacles and got where he is through a lot of hard work and perseverance. Thought to be too small, went un-drafted, didn't make the Senators so signed a free agent contract with Calgary who then released him and he signed on with Tampa and the rest is history. Works his ass off, is an unselfish team player, makes the players around him better, isn't a dirty player, and is still going strong in his mid 30s.

I just don't like him. There's just something about him that sets me off. Maybe it's just always hearing about what you just said. I don't know, I guess I'm just weird in disliking certain players. It's not that he's a Cane killer (see: Stamkos, Steven). I think it's mainly post-whistle stuff that has made me dislike him. I can't pinpoint a time that made this happen, but I can't remember a time that I did like him.

Sure you don't want to replace Kaleta with Nathan Horton and make it a clean sweep?

Somebody's not very good at following directions...I want a top 5 list, with no repeats of players off the same team(s). Fix it now!

Or, I could just take every player that isn't a repeat of a team and you already have 4 names on there...haha
