Bodog Says...

After the Cauncks as 12-1 favourite for the Cup, the the Leafs are #2
for Canadian teams at 35-1.

Being ahead of the Sens (40-1) was shocking, loved to see the Habs
tied for last at 70-1

Any thoughts?

Why? The Sens at least MADE the playoffs last year while Toronto ended 5th last in the league. We haven't made any moves that make us a better team since the end of last season so why are we 35-1 while they are 40-1?

It has something to do with the amount of fans who will bet for Toronto to win it.

This will probably even out the betting to a point where toronto fans will think twice to spend the money in this fashion.

Chris Stewart re-signed in STL for 1Year/3Mil. The skill and toughness is there. He just needs to bring it like he used to in Colorado.

Lightning acquire G Anders Lindback from Nashville for 2 seconds, a third and Caron, Kyle Wilson also goes in deal, along with a 7th

That's quite a bit for a guy who's played under 40 games in his career.

Quantity for quality. Would have liked to see a 1st rounder, but knowing how well the preds draft in the lower rounds, it's a pretty decent return.

Potential quality. Lindback is still unproven, no?

They estimated 250 000 for their parade, with 18 000 inside the arena for the reception.

As proven as you could be playing roughly 20 games a season. He's a big big kid, athletic to boot. Still a question mark, but one of the better young goalies out there.

Excellent trade for the lightning. Lindback is going to be an excellent goalie.

Stevie Y beat Lam to the punch. Plus, Nashville gets a head start on the retool.

I couldnt imagine the reaction around here if Burke traded 2 2nd rounders for a goalie with less than 40 NHL games played.

Gave up too much. Dustin Tokarski is a better keeper. Dumb move. I hope Burkie goes after Bernier, I really do.

About as proven as Cory Schneider. Anyways, this spells the end of Rollie the Goalie in Tampa. Good trade for both sides, quantity for quality, with Tampa having the edge in this trade.
