Thats what I was thinking. He has really done nothing much to warrant that value except he is huge and athletic. Their scouts must really like him.

Now that Tampa Picked up a Goalie who else is in the Market for a Starter besides us?

Columbus and maybe Edmonton, anyone else.

Hard to imagine Luongo willing to go to Columbus and I doubt the Canucks who trade him to a divisional rival even if they were interested.

I've got mixed feelings on Tampa picking up Lindback. If they are in a retooling mode, then why not bring up Tokarski who is essentially a half step behind Lindback. You give up a substantial amount in that package. Tokarski proved that he can be that guy to carry your team in the minors and someone you can mold into being a pro starter. Lindback is a quality goalie and I think you can get solid years out of him.

The Chris Stewart signing also makes a ton of sense to me. A 1 year contract to see if he can prove to St. Louis that last year was a fluke. If not, then you trade him and get something for him.

Harding resigns w/ wild

http://www.cbssports.com/nhl/blog/ey...minnesota-wild

BB took another hit today when he lost out on another goalie as the Minnesota Wild resigned JH to a 3 year deal ( Financial terms were not disclosed). Where exactly does this leave the Buds? This makes rumours such as RL or OP becoming available the only options left for the Leafs?

damn, I was hoping he would enter in UFA status July 1. I actually think Steve Mason would be an interesting choice. I know he is coming off a very bad season, but he is an experienced young goalie that could bounce back in a defensive minded and tough Carlyle team.

Mike Russo

I think Mike Russo broke the story 1st, he's a good source, he also was the reporter that said Justin Schultz had made up his mind on where he is signing weeks ago.

Other than Lou and Pav, hfboards fans has suggested Niemi, Steve Mason, Chris Mason, Clemmenson/Biron, Hedberg.

So what? Harding doesn't even have a high opinion of his worth given that he has signed to be a backup for the next 3 years.

Bingo.

Looks like a Reimer and Scrivens tandem could very well be in the books next year.

Hope for a miracle, or draft MacKinnon. Win win.

Backstrom is in his last year of his deal and Harding wants to be the starter in Minny when that's over.

It's a career gamble, but he must really love the city and likely his family likes it there.

Two words: Andrew Raycroft........or Jim Carey depending on how old you are. Remember Raycroft holds Leaf record for wins in a season.

Was wondering with Harding signing in minny do leaf fans think they could get backstrom from minny. Seems minny might want to get younger and maybe go with a Harding Hackett tandem next year. Thoughts on backstrom to T.O?

The Sens' Karlsson is about to get a huge payday. Rumors say a 7 year deal.

Updated title. $6.5M per year for Karlsson. He's making Phaneuf money. Great deal for the Sens.
