Yep, because Reimer, Scrivens or Gusto were the answer last year. What gives you any impression that because Reimer had 20 good games two years ago that he is any good? Stuff like this happens all the time in NHL. A player comes in net dominates then they figure him out and he ends of in swiss league. Bob is a good goaltender and has proven it (nothing great ) but given chance he probably will be really good. Bob alone was not the point. The point was Burke will wait untill every good goaltender is gone then he will trade for one or go into the season with the same damn mistake he did last his and fall flat on his face again.
Honestly, what are you talking about. Reimer 20 games two years ago? First of all, im FAR from a Reimer fan. But lets take a look at some career stats. We can even look at recent stats, since you like to disregard the 37 games (not 20) from the previous season.
Bobrovsky
Career stats: .909 save %, 2.73 GAA, 83 GP, ZERO shutouts
Last season (so as to disregard Reimers one good season and help bias the stats in YOUR favour.. Apparently).. .899 save %, 3.02 GAA
Reimer
Career stats: .911 save %, 2.83 GAA, 71 GP, SIX shutouts
Last season: .900 save %, 3.10 GAA, three shutouts
Lets also keep in mind that the team in front of Bobrovsky is significantly significantly better than the one in from of Reimer.
Looks like Reimer has better career stats. And better stats last season. Yea... Im sooooooo sad we didnt trade for Bobrovsky The Great. I dont think Reimer is the long term answer, but to act like Bobrovsky is a "good" goaltender and better than Reimer, and that he's a missed opportunity is a complete pile of crap.
Lou "choked" and so did the twins and others. The team choked and Lou was one of the "chokers".
we never blame it on one person, it's a team game not a one man show. Even the great crosby didn't win the cup without the help of malkin, MAF and so on. Everyone plays their role, but in canuck nation the blame goes to loungo, although some reasonable fans know this is not the case.

Again, Reimer has done nothing since his hot streak. Lost three games in a row 2 years ago before season ended and has done nothing since. I can score on his glove hand and I have not played ice hockey in 10 years. Reimer has been figured out and will be in swiss league soon if he is lucky. lol!

Umm..since his hot streak ended he still has better stats than Bobrovsky....
Im not saying Reimer is a good goalie, Im saying Bobrovsky isnt one. Why people complain that Burke didnt go after Bobrovsky makes no sense. Reimer has better stats than him while playing on a worse team, and yes, that does include just looking at this past year and not looking at Reimers "hot streak".

This. Reimer is still "unproven", but he is showing signs of being the real deal. His play last season didn't dip till his neck injury. Seem like he was dealing with it for the remainder of the Season. Prior to the Injury, people forget Reimer was continuing his excellent play from the previous season.
I think we need a Vet to help groom Reimer. Don't think Lou is the guy, someone like Hedberg is who I would want.
Also, Not a Brobovsky fan at all. Don't know what CLB is thinking.
