Gardiner-Komisarek could be a fantastic pairing under Carlyle, I think. I'm one of few people here who think Komi still has gas left in the tank. Wilson's system was the opposite of what we needed for guys like Schenn and Komisarek, so I'm quite interested to see what Carlyle can do to try and help him find his game again. The guy has a fantastic mental approach to the game, is a fitness and health nut, and seems to me like a very well-spoken, all-around good guy who can be very helpful to the younger guys in the locker room. So far he hasn't been able to put it together again since that Lucic fight in Montreal, but I think he can turn it around.

I don't think the Wild have to worry about a Komisarek-esque collapse out of Suter though. I think both of those guys will do very well in Minny, and they should help bring them into the upper-tier of teams in the West.

I'm approaching this season with cautious optimism when it comes to Mike Komisarek. I think he can benefit, maybe even flourish, under Carlyle's defense-first system. Here's hoping he finally puts it together.

Blues sign David Perron to a 4-year deal. $3.8125 aav

Was curious where he was going to go. Love this guy.

Oshie is apparently heading to arbitration.

I don't know how reliable this is because the source is Eklund but could we have another team in Canada perhaps Toronto/ Markham or Quebec City.

Glendale votes No on Tax initiative...future of Coyotes in jeopardy.

Well another Eklund Screw Up, so looks like Coyotes staying now and not moving so, I guess we will have to wait for another team, to move into the Canadian market.

I have never been happier to be wrong! I was texted this ballot measure being disqualified was bad news for the future of the Coyotes, when in fact it was exactly the opposite. I am always in favor of hockey fans NOT losing their team. Again I apologize.

Dale Tallon does it again.

The Florida Panthers have signed centre Peter Mueller to a one-year contract worth $1.725 million on Thursday. The 24-year-old appeared in only 32 games last season for the Colorado Avalanche, missing 41 games with a concussion. Full Story.
Thought for sure Leafs might have been interested here.

Girgensons impresses Sabres brass, they convince him he's ready for the pros and bypasses school.

Sounds like he's physically ready for it.

Desjardins estimates that about 40% of the game is captured by Corsi analysis.

The Winnipeg Jests have re-signed forward Kyle Wellwood, the club announced Friday. Wellwood recorded a career-high 47 points (18 goals, 29 assists) in 77 games with the Jets last season. The Windsor, Ont., native has played in 450 career NHL games with Toronto, Vancouver, San Jose and Winnipeg. Full Story.

has he had any kind of interview, ever sicence burke gave him the boot?
is he still friends with burke?
has any team inquired about his services?

it just seems weird that a coach got fired and we never hear of him or him again.

So much for Burke saying another team would hire him as soon as he became available.

No. If anything, Wilson screwed up his own career (if it is screwed up at all). He never changed his playing style to suit the players but continuously failed in attempting to get them to play his style even if they weren't capable of it.

they were doing great till the goalies went down, he needed help , burke did not provide it to him, thus the losing.

The goalies were under constant harassment. The lack of a defensive system and expecting guys like Komisarek to pinch resulted in multiple giveaways and odd man rushes a game. I'm glad he's gone and hopefully Carlyle can work out better.

That was game 7. We're prone to hot starts. Good teams adapt to losing key players.

Reimer was injured in the 7th game of the season. The Leafs were a playoff team in early February.

Are you just making things up as you go along?

Versteeg signs a 4 year deal, in the range of $4.2 to $4.5 mil per year.

Darren Dreger‏@DarrenDreger

$4.4 mil x 4 yrs for Versteeg

Not a bad deal for Versteeg. 20 goal guy who can probably get around 30 under the right circumstances.

Kaspar Daugavins re-signs 635K/1Y in OTT.

Looks like Colin Wilson has come to terms with Nashville and got a contract extension... From what I am hearing/understanding.

Should be interesting to see the terms come out as he's been on the outs his entire career there, but he still has so much potential.
