People should be mentioning Henrik Karlsson's name more on here. The back-up (or former) of Kiprusoff isn't going to get any love because Kipper plays 70 games a year. But the guy can flat out play. He reminds me a lot of Pekka Rinne or Anders Lindbak. Both are big bodies and can just flat out own the net. His stats aren't telling of how he played last season because he got no goal support.

Reminds me of Gustavsson.

He was the Leafs' leading scorer in the 196364, 196667 and 196970 seasons, and the team's top goal scorer in 197071 and 197273. Keon was considered one of the fastest skaters in the NHL, and one of the best defensive forwards of his era.[3] He would usually play against the opposing team's top centre, and developed a reputation for neutralizing some of the league's top scorers. In 197071, he scored eight shorthanded goals, setting an NHL record.

Good for the Canucks.

and to think we selected Pogge just before Edler was selected

hindsight 20/20.

whatever the case i think that's prolly the one few picks in the present times that hasn't really panned out.

$5 million cap-hit for your #1 D-man is too much?

Leafs wish they were paying that much to Phaneuf.

He plays on the second pairing behind Hamhuis and Bieksa.

Hamhuis + bieksa = defensive pairing
edler + garrison = offensive pairing

We don't have a #1 line #2 line type thing.

Imagine they lose tomorrow? Every question by every reporter will be "Would you have won with PK in the line-up?"

It's gonna be rough for management.

You're right, what I meant though was that Hamhuis-Bieksa ate up the tougher minutes against the opposition's top players while Edler was fairly sheltered by comparison

Edler got a great deal, man. If he wanted more than that (which he easily could have got), he could have put the Canucks in a really tough situation.
