Man, no one is going to be signing those longterm contracts with Philly anymore.

Oh, your NTC will kick in soon? Goodbye.

I agree with JetNation. It is an extremely stupid move giving up on Luke Schenn at this early age.

We are going to look at this trade in 2016 and shake our heads, laugh and wonder if the Leafs will EVER make the playoffs again

Hey gang,

Rumor going around has it that there will be some sort of major press conference to be made out of Quebec City this Thursday, and the best part is that it isn't two weeks away!

Mark it on your calendar boys, this could FINALLY be it!

As a former Leafer I think that Schenn was not going to work out in TO. He was rushed too early, and had way too much pressure placed upon him. Similar to Bogosian but much worse in the way that it was a bigger market, and the d coaching was suspect.

Moving him now was a good move I think because they have some good guys back there now and some scoring punch up front, a big top 6 guy is what Burke wanted. If they win the Schultz sweepstakes they'll have phaneuf, Gardiner, and Schultz, along with Gunnarsson.

If we were drafting at that time some here would be losing their minds that we passed on him.

"The ‘now’ is very good in Chicago. The ‘now’ back in the days when they were drafting first, second and third? It wasn’t very good. But the core of fans that stuck with them, if you asked them now, I betcha they’d say it was worth it.” - Kevin Cheveldayoff

Injuries really helped screw with his development imo. Kind of sad.

He ripped his ACL in junior and had to have surgery, then the year after he had to have knee surgery again IIRC.
And he did make the WJC, he played in 09 with Canada.

It was a long time coming but it would have been ideal if they could have announced it on St Jean Baptist day!
Also, The Jets will be in town on November 9, I have that marked on my calendars, if I can get 2 tickets, guaranteed I will be deflowered by a gorgeous quebequoise

Dumb and Dumber:

http://www.bluejacketsxtra.com/conte...eir-picks.html

Seriously, I don't know which team is more stupid: The Islanders offering ALL of their picks to move up from 4 to 2 or the Jackets for not jumping on it.

Seriously, these teams will suck in perpetuity until they get someone with a clue running them. I don't understand how in the best league in the world, with only 30 jobs available, Howson and Snow are employed as GM's.

The Jackets are much dumber for not taking it. They could've filled up a weaker prospect pool overnight, and still had a top 5 pick and get a great defenseman.

Wow... just...... wow........

Maybe the Isles don't think they have much a future in the league and wanna just give up? That's..... The only thing more shocking than the Isles offering all THAT for 1 pick that was only 2 spots higher.. is that the Jackets didn't take it.. Hopefully Murray gets the Calder and at least 5 Norris trophies..

Hopefully someone offers us a deal like that next year. With how deep the draft is supposed to be we could build a whole new team through 1 draft!

Howson was worried that with all those picks he wouldn't have enough time to ruin that many prospects.
