Bring Bernier Back

Adversity builds character. We move on and build from this. Steve played an integral role on the 4th line with his size and shiftiness. We need to support him as devils fans.

Support this.

Especially watching him speak now, looks like he spent the last two hours crying his eyes out.

You win with warriors like him. He is strong, physical, and goes to the dirty areas. **** off haters.

I was infuriated at first.

Without him, and with POS Boulton or Janssen playing on our 4th line this playoffs, and him not coming up after Tedenby was sent down we don't make it this far in the playoffs.

If it means sitting Boulton next year I'll take him, and the rest of our 4th liners. They were all starts in the series against the Rangers.

Regardless the Devils PK could needed to kill that. Maybe give up a goal or two, but not three. This isn't time to rip into the Devils though. Bernier has my support.

Yeah, he made one mistake in these playoffs. Granted it was the most costly, but he still outperformed most of our top guys. Gotta bring back the entire 4th line.

Agreed. He didn't deserve. Wrong place, wrong time. He didn't mean to do it. Scuderi IMO is the reason for the boarding. Nothing Steve could do. Hopefully Steve is on the team next year. Solid 4th line player. Brought heart and grit every shift.

Absolutely. Without him and that 4th line we're not even here.

Not his fault the refs botched the call and gave him a major.

Bring that 4th line back, best 4th line I've seen from this team in so very long.

If Devils don't resign him, I'm sure Habs would do anything to get him this summer.

What is the address for fan mail to Bernier???? Initially I was angry when it happened, but the more and more I watch I'm not angry. And he handled himself really well in the postgame press conference.

Personally I would probably boo him. He faced it like a man afterwards but there is enough dumb on this team and we don't need any more let alone pay crazy for it after a playoff run. Worked well for Washington.

But realistically I don't see him coming back. A team will offer him a good contract like Joel Ward or Bergenheim last year. We have our own guys to focus on re-signing and Lou will go and find his retreads again to try and rebuild a similar 4th line for cheap.

It was a bad check but it shows he was playing hard.

I'm okay with Steve coming back.

Even if he didnt take that penalty, the team still let in 4 goals
It should take more than a bad call for us to fall apart

Agreed.
Says he didn't see Stoll's hit on Gionta in his interview...looks like he was crying in the lockerroom.

Dano, no surprise, is not blaming Bernier and neither am I.

I definitely agree. He was an absolute beast in the Florida series, and worked really well with little Gio and Carter.

I want our whole 4th line back. **** off with Boulton. We could get 20 goals AT LEAST out of this 4th line.

I'd prefer not to double shift Clarkson.

I also want the whole fourth line back. Bernier made a costly mistake, but we don't get past the Panthers without him. Big picture.

One bad decision in one game (albeit crucial). He was still one of many bright spots all season. Can't ignore all of his contributions because of one play, even if it was in the biggest game of the year.

We didn't lose the series to one penalty. <3 Bernier.

Please bring him back Lou, it's so refreshing to have an energetic, physical, dangerous, and defensively responsible 4th line.
