Sean Avery commented after the 2008 playoff series where we lost to the Rangers, that Brodeur didn't want to shake his hand in the handshake line, and called him "Fatso". Rangers fans ran with it, and it stuck even though it makes no sense.

It took Ranger fans 15 years to say anything regarding Marty being fat until Avery said anything

Not surprising that they followed an idiot though, just look at the team they follow

Such a great idea to take the tagline from the clown of the NHL that no longer even plays and run with it to infinity against the guy who's won more on his own than all of your team combined currently.

Brilliant.

I'm fine with it if they keep using it. We know it's not true, we know they're just bitter, we can continue to laugh at them for thinking it bothers him or us, and it prevents them from actually coming up with something clever to insult him with.

The eulogy sucked...I was expecting so much more.

I think Josef Jacobson was my favorite part though...

Ugh, I couldn't hold them in while watching that. What a great group of hockey players the 2011-12 Devils were.

I firmly believe nothing less than a Cup is satisfying, having come to expect a certain level of success. That said, this was a great season and a great run. Proud to have been in attendance for Patty's 1000th game, and sad not to be in attendance tonight as planned. But it was an exciting year.

It just sounded like a bitter Rangers fan rehashing old jokes and making bizarre claims.

He really thinks we lost because DeBoer benched Sykora? Come on now.

According to Kings fans, we play the trap. Jesus Christ...and we can't complain about reffing because our PK sucked. Yet, this is the same team that benefited from two hits that probably should have went differently. The Dwight King boarding 2 min pp and the Shane Doan major.

Unbelievable.

Was literally just going to come in here and mention that about the trap. And all it takes is one shift to realize that we play it.

My head hurts...

I've had enough of their arrogance. The name change of the board is just the cherry on top.

Lou's awesome. Here's the first part of that quote too:

Tom Gulitti ‏@TGfireandice
Lamoriello: "It was very important for our fans, in my opinion, and put aside hearing, even when I go in a restaurant, a certain name..."

Lamoriello and Salvador both mentioned the fans and how, though they didn't win Cup, they hoped Devils made them happy by beating Rangers.

Ya I am still angry and it isn't even about the Kings winning, its just the circus that Game 6 was and non-fans/haters pretending like nothing was wrong with that game. Like its done, and still proud of the team just UGHHH. I hate how dumb and arrogant some other people are.

Like good for you, you deserved your win for your overall body of work but Game 6 was a mess and we weren't really given a fair shake. Don't try and tell me it was just a normal nothing game that the refs were NOT involved in at all.

Ugh sorry for the rant, just tired of some arrogance I've seen thrown around and again the notion that we were NEVER in this finals and NEVER had a chance...
