We're either royally ****ed or we're winning the Cup next year... I'm not sure

By they way, players were looking at Prince of Wales Trophy today before and after team photo. Kovalchuk picked it up and top fell off.

I wish we could've seen the look on his and the other players' faces when that happened.

Of course Kovy broke it. I stand by the fact that if Zach just spiked the thing when we won it we would of won the cup. I take it as an excellent sign.

Bernier was very touched by the fan support he received when the team returned from Los Angeles Tuesday afternoon. A group of approximately 500 fans waited out in the rain for the team bus and Bernier received a loud ovation when he stepped off of it. There were also signs expressing support for him.
“You play for a team in a city. I want to win as much as they do and even more,” he said. “I want to win so badly. To have that support and all those signs, it’s very, very comforting and I could not thank them enough.”

Having formed a good chemistry during the playoffs, Carter, Gionta and Bernier would love to stay together in New Jersey as a line, but that’s out of their control now.
“We had a good run,” Bernier said. “(But) we don’t control those things. Play as hard as possibly can in the playoffs to try to get a job next year, but it’s not in our hands anymore.”
I don't know what the offseason will hold, but regardless of if they come back or not, the CBGB line was just awesome in the playoffs and all 3 of them came up big in their own ways.
It's refreshing to hear they'd all like to come back. Especially Gio. I was under the impression he would rush to Montreal to play with Brian. That could still happen, but he was adamant about wanting to stay.
I keep getting scared thinking we'll be hanging on waiting for Zach. I think he goes to UFA. Sounds like he's listening to his agent, and his agent will point him in that way. Doesn't mean he won't be back. I just hope we aren't waiting until midnight to get word from him, and our 4th line guys are all taken earlier in the day. It would be like a quadruple bypass if we wait all night for Parise to wind up not staying too.
