After talking about Kovy, and Maclean did anyone notice in Kovy's post game interview after Friday night game 6 vs the Rangers Kovy says something about it didn't matter who they faced it could have been Carolina? I don't remember word for word, but I did rewind it to see if he really said Carolina, and it appears he did.

I wonder if that was to troll Maclean, or he was just throwing out the name of a perennial loser that didn't even make the playoffs? I find it funny he said that.

As for missing meetings I know Hartley scratched him a few times for the same thing, and once was even against us one time back in 04 or something I think. Don't know what the reason was when he was here last year maybe he was visiting back home? but Maclean treated Kovy, and talked to him like he was a dog. The only guy on a team full of losers that he really singled out in interviews. I'm glad that's behind us. I think we have a good competent coach worth a damn now, and I think we're set for a while. Believe me I was one of Pete's biggest critics when he was hired, but I feel very happy for him he's in the finals his first year in the playoffs in the NHL. He actually has a system, and gets the most out of his players. I'm glad we've finally shaken the defensive system of this team. In my opinion it was really outdated with the players we have. All those guys are long gone.

Doughty with a compliment to the NJD:

Question: Is there a benefit for both of these team having to fight to get into the Playoffs?

DOUGHTY: Yeah. We both kind of had subpar regular seasons. I think both teams have kind of got on a roll. Watching the New Jersey/Rangers series, I thought New Jersey just dominated them. You could just tell that everyone was clicking on the team, they felt good as a team.
Yup. He definitely watched the series.

Torts on Miked Up in ten minutes. Francessa, despite his lack of hockey knowledge is a tough tough interview at times.

So far Torts has stated:

- Devils were a more balanced, deeper team up front than us. They kept us deep in our defensive zone too much us. Very frustrating opposition.

But we have Doc again.
And he will be calling our run for a 4th Cup these days. Awesome.
I still can't believe that it is actually happening.

Torts thinks we are a very dangerous team. Surprised many have written the devils off as underdog this series. Very complimentary.

Of course Linda Cohn picked against the Devils. More surprising is that Burnside did pick them.

Linda Cohn really, really, seriously hates the Devils. With some sort of passion!

I usually like LeBrun, but calling LA Parise's future team, even speculatively? I am not appreciative.

That must have really burned her cannoli. I cannot imagine a greater indignity for a Rangers fan.

Her call of the 1st Devils goal was great: "And the Rangers just could not stop this Devils 4th line which burned them yet again in the series". All while having a forced-smile as Melrose then started talking about all the things the Rangers did to lose the series, not what the Devils did to win.

Ya that does seem like an odd thing to say. I know we were a sixth seed, but we weren't a normal sixth seed.
