I really don't know why our fanbase get's all upset when "the experts" don't pick us to win a series. When was the last time we were favorite to win anything, seriously?

Part of being a Devils fans is to be a underdog and prove the world wrong.

So anyone looking at personnel moves?

I'd seriously consider Larsson in for Zid's. Did not play well last night, had a tough series vs the rags as well. Not saying for the rest of the finals. But I think I'd make a move.

Tallinder is there as well, though I'd be wary of sticking him in the finals against a hard forechecking team after sitting so long.

No lineup changes required. They just need to settle into their own game.

Zidlicky eats too many minutes to be replaced by Larsson. We'd end up loading Larsson up with too many, and crippling our PP to boot.

So I went on the main board to offer my opinion after watching the game live. Gave analysis similar to ILWT overall, said Kings are beatable & Devils match up well. Nothing biased just truth in what I saw.

The Kings fans reacted by saying we should accept defeat, it's already over

I thought Rangers & Flyers fans were bad, these guys are just straight up delusional.

It's not over yet, but the Devils need to adjust soon or else it will be.

Maybe no lineup changes are required, but I would rethink those lines...

If the Kings play anywhere near the level they showed up with for Game 1, then god have mercy on them.

Their fans seem to assume we will be playing hot potato with the puck for the rest of the series.

We played the worst game all playoffs yesterday and almost bagged a win.

Why is it overreaction? This would not be the first(nor the 2nd) time there was a lineup change in these playoffs. And Zid's has not played well since Philly.

Im not saying Larsson should take all of zid's minutes.

PP is a legit concern.

But let's be real, Zid's is not playing his best.

Tough to change the line-up when they all sucked lemons last night. But damn, Sykora would definitely bury most chances that Elias and JJ set him up with and Clarkson didn't last night. But for that to work, you can't sit JJ, who then? Do you sit Bernier and put Clarkson on the 4th? Hmmm...

No, he isn't playing his best. But if Larsson doesn't take all those minutes, who else takes more? You'll be loading up someone else who also can't handle it.

The minutes can be divied up amongst the 6. No one guy needs to take all the minutes, and it's not like Zid's is playing far and away more minutes then everyone else.

I know it prob doesn't happen.

I talked to a couple of Kings fans afterward. And they felt the Devils should have won the game because the Devils did a better job at maintaining pressure. They basically agreed the Devils shot themselves in the foot by passing up shooting opportunities, and for leaving Kopitar wide open. They also felt that the first goal by Marty was a weak one.

I found it retesting that we were so awful, yet could have bagged the W. We literally shot ourselves in the foot.

I didn't think we were so awful. The game was pretty ugly, especially in the first. But I thought that went for both teams.

Change nothing. You could still see they were hung up in the offensive style against the Rangers. Once we get back to the pre-Rangers style, we'll be fine.
You could see this through the forwards being tenative on inital shots. They're used to holding it a little longer to dodge shot blockers, once we move past that, I think we'll be fine.

PS - I was afraid of Quick's stick handling ability. Started the game well, but we eventually broke it down effectively enough to begin forechecking

Ya, he'd get eaten alive. Probably a defensive liability more than a positive asset.

Fayne's rolling puck was a toughy, especially for a d-man not named Zidlicky. Clarktards, well i'm not sure.
