How didn't Quick get a penalty for laying down on Parise while the ref was right next to him.

Marty's first goal should have been stopped.

Clarkson was awful. Fayne missed a slam dunk too.

Quick played well, but we only had 16 (I think?) shots against him.

Poor Kovy is really hurting.

Bad breakdown on the last goal.

One or two huge brain farts. We played at their level last night. I'm encouraged. It's going to be a tight series.

I also like how they re-edited the intro video to include all of this postseason's highlights.

Anyone get the CBC intro on Youtube? I'd love to see that, they're always epic.

I don't know.

It looked like the team was finally starting to come together after being a little bit rusty for the better part of 2 periods. Still some rust to shake off, though.
I think lineup changes become more detrimental than helpful at this point.

I know Fayne's puck was rolling but he had the whole net. Also does Zidlicky ever shoot the puck he was going down with the puck goes all the was to their goal line then throws it back to the point to no one.

Too many crap passes, passes to no one, passes directly to Kings, no hustle for loose pucks. No shots for 15 mins. Only 7-8 shots after 40 mins.

Overall a poor performance minus Marty being an absolute star.

Kovalchuk was confined to the outside just about every time he carried the puck into the offensive zone. May be afraid to drive through the middle with his injury. There was one play - might have been in OT - there was a loose puck between the two point men in the defensive zone. Healthy Kovalchuk would have been gone.

what about kovy not blasting that second shot of the shift in OT. he shot it 5 feet wide, an undeflectable shot

We had a lot of chances but we couldn't hit the net everything was wide.

It's **** like that, coupled with all the picks set by the Kings that will drive me nuts.

They usually let goalies get away with stuff like that when a skater has bumped them just prior. Parise ran into Quick, and Quick was defending his crease. Marty does it all the time, remember him giving the business to JVR?

That said, Quick's reaction was a bit excessive.

He was trying to force it to Kovy. Better choice was to shoot.

I felt like I was watching basketball. And the referees had a chance to set the tone. Really they just made it clear that running picks is acceptable. I think the Kings do it so frequently that the officials are afraid they would be calling too many penalties if they called it when they saw it.

You could see this through the forwards being tenative on inital shots. They're used to holding it a little longer to dodge shot blockers, once we move past that, I think we'll be fine.

PS - I was afraid of Quick's stick handling ability. Started the game well, but we eventually broke it down effectively enough to begin forechecking
He came out way to much and I knew he would mess up. There were a few chances he got very lucky and once were it almost went in.

But he went like the whole ice he could of shot so someone could get the rebound

That play was infuriating, had a clear lane to the goal, in the circle(or there about) and instead of shooting passes backwards to no one. wtf?

We will be fine. After Game 1 of the ECF, I started to wonder if we would score any goals on Lundy.

Series isn't over, not by a long shot. Did these same negative posters despair after we went down a game to the Flyers and Rangers? Hell, the hardest series we had was the one where we won Game 1.

Kings in, wait didn't they already win?

We've been counted out all playoffs.
