Didn't he give Dean one of these, too? Is this like a part of a "welcome to my family" package?

#NJD DeBoer was asked what he'd say to anyone disappointed that there`s no NY-LA series: "tough luck".

I'm pretty sure he just really likes and looks up to Vince Lombardi.

I don't care if it takes 4, 7, or anything in between. Just bring home the Cup. Let's Go Devils.

Great stuff. He should tote that around the arena at the home games. My personal favorite was Rocky getting whooped up on for the Flyers series. That was classic!

Not sure why any informed fan would be lamenting it anyway. The quality of the hockey will be far better with us in it. And the ratings won't take nearly as much of a hit as people would assume. NYC is a big market, but as the ratings for the Winter Classic showed, it isn't really a hockey mad place that will drive the ratings.

Puck Daddy has been running a series of articles comparing various aspects of each team, and they've picked the Kings in every single one for increasingly flimsy and nonsensical reasons. For example, they just compared captains, and Brown got the nod over Parise because they simply looked at +/- and assumed that Brown is miles better defensively. Good Lord.

Chere is a tool. Heard him on NHL Home Ice towards the end of the Rangers series and he sounded like a Rangers homer, it was really nauseating. Don't remember him being like that in the past, it's weird.

TG picked Devils in 7. Also, no surprise, lineup the same for tonight:

Tom Gulitti ‏@TGfireandice
DeBoer confirmed no lineup changes

I have the Devils in 6. People IMO, are greatly overrating the Kings due to their trip and failing to properly analyze each series.

1) Canucks - limped into playoffs playing terrible hockey, without their #1 player, after series ends we learn their #2 player played hurt enough that he needs surgery

2) Blues - without #1 goalie, Elliot was Bryzgalov, Blues imploded. Hell, team even admitted as much.

3) Coyotes - Frankly, an overachieving team that only got as remotely far as it did via Mike Smith's "God Mode".

So, while the Kings are a VERY solid squad, the (rather large) "Devils have no chance" crew is going to be surprised.

Also factoring into the Blues loss is the fact that the Kings essentially took Pietrangelo out of the series with a dirty hit. He came back, but he wasn't nearly as effective.

Torts on WFAN at 3 and ESPN 1050 at 3:30 PM. It will be interesting to hear him finally liberated, as opposed to those guarded, one word pressers. Also, I wouldn't be surprised if he picked us against the kings.

Quick is a beast right now. But he's definitely got more holes than Lundqvist does.

St. Louis and Phoenix don't have great offenses. And Vancouver was missing their leading scorer. I think we have the best offense the Kings will be facing.

I wouldn't mind having Quick on our squad in a few years after Marty hangs em up. Always liked #32. Would look good red, hope it won't be expensive, do it Lou!

Quick is beatable, just like Lundqvist was, but I wouldn't say he has more holes. They play very different styles, and I respect Quick much more for his.

I agree with you on the offence, we are the best one that the Kings will see in this playoffs. Phoenix and the Blues didn't have much, the Canucks were hamstrung by injuries. We roll four lines.

Agreed. I think since we solved Lundqvist, Quick will be easier. Lundqvist plays so deep in net and is so disciplined in terms of his style that you really need to create ugly, unconventional goals. Secondly, the rangers clog so many shooting lanes. I think we can score on Quick. But I think the kings will score on Marty as well. I expect more total goals than what people expect.

I took the Kings to the Cup.
Against the computer with offsides off.
They're a finesse team.
They're a ***** team.
