Jarnkrok signs a 3-year entry-level deal

http://redwings.nhl.com/club/m_news.htm?id=633225

Quote:
Jarnkrok just finished his third Elitserien season with Brynas Gavle where he’s collected a combined 31 goals and 45 assists in 132 games. He will play for Brynas next season, before he’s likely to become eligible to play in Grand Rapids for the 2013-14 campaign.
Good to hear!

Well that didn't take too long after Pulkinnen's did it?

I remember reading about how his agent was going to push for the max amount or whatever. But I wonder if the Wings were going to give him that anyways.

That just leaves Jurco. I can't wait to see what he can do in Grand Rapids.

Still with the "eligible".

Whatever, he was gonna play next season with Brynas no matter what.

I'm gonna be surprised if it isn't. It's not like the max amount for a 2nd rounder is crazy $. They were probably asking for the max sign-on bonus, which is 10% per year I believe.

A very skilled center that will get the job done on the wing as well. Järnkrok's main asset is his outstanding hockey sense, which allows him to be the great playmaker that he is. Overall a very smart player with good positioning in all zones. Also quite shifty with soft hands and impressive puckhandling skills. Not a physical player, but plays pretty well through heavy traffic although in need of gaining strength and muscles. Good character. Often used as pointman on the man advantage, but can still improve his release. Is a good skater, but there is still some room for improvement in that department.

He isn't an overly big player, but he is almost 180lbs / 6'0'' player. Excited to see him mold into a Zetterberg/Filppula type player.

The only way he scored points in sweden was thanks to Silfverberg otherwise he never did anything. And also he is a diving ice hockey players http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=84d3AB7G_5w and that penelty made Brynäs score so it turned into 3-3 with seconds left of the 3rd period (when they ran over Frölundas goalie but the referees didnt care at all about that). Then all thanks to this brynäs scored again and Frölunda was eliminated from the face off 2012 and järnkrok is diving is every tacke he get

Skellefteå fan?

Great for the Wings, no doubt he'll tear the NHL up in a few years.

Zetterberg apparently spoke to him a lot during the world championship and said he could "live under his roof" (together with Emma.... *dayuuum*) early on to make the transition smoother

Can't wait for the 13/14 season to start with Järnkrok going straight to detroit's top-6

I really wish they would give him a shot to come over and make the team this coming season. It might be hard for him to do, but at least bringing him over for training camp and the exhibitions would allow him to see and understand some of the things he needs to know about the Red Wings game. I think the problem would be when it was clear he belonged now and didn't have to wait a whole year in Sweden.

If you like diving cheaters then yes you should be happy about that, järnkrok is also not anything special and hes been average the whole season in sweden and didnt even score in the world cup against teams like italy, denmark, latvia and so on.

Well that is upsetting, unless you are a Leafs fan pretending to trade on here, I think a little higher of him than that. Besides the Z comments come from Hakan Andersson so I prefer that one.

Maybe. I thought Sundqvist would get the C last season, but they went with the young guy in Silfverberg. Gonna do it again now
