Honestly, some of these reporters ask the stupidest questions, hats off to Quick's answer.
(quotes from Kings Insider, but I saw the actual reply on TV as well)
Idiot Reporter: (on matching up against Martin Brodeur, “step for step”…)
QUICK: “I’m not looking to match him step for step. I’m not trying to score on him. He’s not trying to score on me. I’ll leave that to the forwards and D. I’m trying to make saves and help my team win a game.”
Great answer. Put that numbskull in his place. I don't blame Quick for making light of it. These reporters ask the stupidest questions...
I was thinking that yesterday. But, i want the real ones

The impossible thing is finding Quicky's hat. I remember another poster on here looking for it and the best you can do is buy a patch on ebay and make the hat yourself.
Amazed how gracious Kings fans are being during the final so far, thread has very lttle gloating or trash talking. Keep up the good Karma.
There's certainly some newfound confidence we're working our way through, but for the most part I think every Kings fan has been through so many rough and disappointing times, that we know not to count our chickens before they hatch. A lot of the trash talking so far has been from other teams.

Thank you, the very first post after I click on the link is:
1) I have a few Canuck fans on ignore so I am sure I am missing out some good stuff
2) I wish I could see all those silly sunglasses avatars lol
Goes to show you that the first game is just the beginning and there's no reason to get cocky. Heck they won the first two games, and still went on to lose. Many Van fans were thinking sweep or 5 games at the start, but look how that turned out for them. Glad we got the win tonight, but we still have a long road ahead. This series is just getting started.
I have been watching and re-watching that part of the interview. It just cracks me up. From the whole lead-up, with the question, Quicks dramatic turn to face Kopi … and then that reply that cracks them both up … epic …
I know I'm probably not alone in this, but I'll never forget the feeling I got when Kopi got the puck. I knew that was it.
I'm definitely there with you.
My first thought, just before the puck hit his stick, was "he can't possibly be that wide-open".
My second thought, right after he collected the puck, was "OMG HES GOING TO SCORE O_O".
After the puck went in I almost literally hit the ceiling, lol.
I was not impressed at all with my Kings in this game. They had brief spurts where they looked like the Kings from the first three rounds, but overall I felt they were sloppy, hesitant, and generally disengaged physically and therefore emotionally. They let the Devils hang around the game for far too long while it was 1-0 and, what do you know, they ended up tying it and almost winning it. Call it nerves, rust, whatever, but I expect a lot better from them in game two.
All in all, there were some positives. In the first period I felt the Kings' defensemen put on an absolute clinic on how to beat an aggressive forecheck. They were decisive and precise, made quick, accurate passes, and never allowed the Devils to sustain any kind of pressure. This faded as the game went on and the Devils gained more momentum, but the system was there in the first. The Kings' puck moving defense proved exactly why they will be so valuable going forward in this series if they duplicate that play.
At the end of the day, the puck ended up on the stick of the Kings' best player and he ended the game. That's pretty much all you can ask for. It's really become a cliche but your best players need to be your best players, especially in a series like the Stanley Cup Finals. Kopitar needed to score that goal in that fashion because it serves as a powerful symbol going forward. The Kings' best players got it done and the Devils' didn't. Build off it.
Going forward, the Kings need to keep the Devils as emotionally uninvested as possible. My first impressions of the Devils are that they're a tight, hard working group that will turn a little energy into an overwhelming tidal wave of momentum. This will be easier to handle at home, but the Kings MUST manage this on the road. They squeaked out their win tonight, but they have to be aware of this going into game two and likely game five. A little scuffle between Quick and Parise turned into the Devils nearly taking over this game, and that's frightening. The Kings have to be aware of this and not give them any life, especially when protecting a lead.
The Kings proved why they're the favorites in this series tonight: they played poorly and still walked away with a win. But the play exhibited tonight won't win them three more games. They have to play better.
Had to get to sleep between the end of the third and OT, but when I woke up, I immediately turned to the NHL network for highlights and tuned into the middle of an interview with Stoll and he was talking about playing better on the road and dealing with rust and I was like "Damn, they didn't win." And then they switched to an interview with Kopitar and Quick and showed the clip of Kopitar scoring in OT and I was like "Woot! nevermind!"
Harrold's been playing 20ish minutes per games. Meanwhile, Martinez has been playing 14ish minutes per game. Does this bother anybody? I mean, did we go with the wrong #6 defenseman by (over the summer) choosing Martinez over Harrold?
