Miller is worth nowhere close to Kane

Imagine a 23 year old who lacks maturity

They won't give up on him; now if he's 26 and still acting like this then they look at dealing him.

Dan Girardi + Derek Stepan? Does there need to be another +? I dunno Chicago's needs. Girardi is a top pairing defeseman and Stepan had 51 points in his 2nd season...

I know, right? They want him badly but just trash him and offer less than half the price.

Sounds fair, but Chicago says no. Chicago isn't trading the best player in any deal they make.

This is an easy answer, unless he thumbs his nose directly at Rocky Wirtz, or something dramatic comes out, Kane will/should be a Blackhawk. Do I wish he was more mature? Yes. But you can't trade an immensely talented 23 year old kid because he allegedly parties too much. I would be extremely upset if he was dealt unless it's for a CLEAR upgrade on the Hawks team. All these 60 cents on the dollar trades, not gonna work. I'd rather them play out his contract and lose him in free agency (if it comes to that) rather than take a crappy deal.

So he is having fun, albeit overdoing it a bit, and this signifies a trade as Chicago is annoyed? Really? Hate to break it to some people however this supposed "higher standard" for athletes just does not exist, at least in their mind. The guy is twenty-three years old. If he wants to party in the off season, be my guest. I would only havw qualms were he to show up completely out of shape and unmotivated when training camp began.

He is not going anywhere and Chicago would be moronic to even consider the idea unless a player of equal caliber was coming back.

Off the top of my head, I'm going to rattle off some players that have said they love having Kane in the locker room. I'll dig up references as requested.

Hossa
Sharp
Carcillo
Burish
Bolland
Byfuglien
Versteeg
Madden

Sure sounds like a headache in the locker room to me.

I don't believe the inebriation was the issue but the alleged behavior while inebriated which, if believed to be correct, is not typical 23 year old college kid behavior and from a hockey perspective is a public relations nightmare and potentially a legal issue.

Hawks have almost 7 million invested into him, they've actively promoted him as the face of the franchise, as of right now he might be most recognizable American hockey player in the world, which obviously is worth a lot. I think concerns over his behavior are most certainly going to be well investigated and thought out by that franchise. This isn't the team being like "Oh a drunk hockey player? Trade him." Like I said I believe their concerns come mainly from his behavior while drinking and not the drinking itself.

Skrudland.

"Oh, a drunk hockey player? Trade him."

You're right that that's not what the Hawks brass are saying.

It's what HF (the fans of the 29 other teams) is saying.

And the board will never learn, I can promise you that.

Kane is very valuable to Chicago, regardless of his current playboy status. For these reasons, I believe a trade to Buffalo could look something like this:

To Buffalo:
Kane

To Chicago:
Miller
Luke Adam
1st

You can say that it's not Toews' job, but it actually is. Unless he's not all that respected, that is.

I'm sorry. Is that line of discussion illegal in hockey? I think it is. Regards.

"Intangibles!"
This is just a stupid comment. Steve Yzerman is considered one of the best captains of his era and yet he could never get Bob Probert to toe the line.

Bottom line, Kane is just an immature young man with too much time and money on his hands. He needs to grow up. the sooner, the better. Patrick Kane alone is responsible for his actions, not Toews, not Sharp, not Keith, not management, not his parents.

Girardi + Stepan for a high end guy is a proposal I've often suggested.

Not sure Hawks would want to go EXACTLY there, although Stepan clearly fits them to a 't'.

So maybe Stepan + Del Zotto + x + y for Kane + z?

The only way that I could realistically see Kaner leaving Chicago is through free-agency. Any team would be stupid to trade Kane because he has been drinking in the off-season.

I know it's a sensitive issue, but there are many players around the league who enter the league's drug abuse assistance program and the team doesn't trade them because of it. Kane is no different, if there were to even be a legitimate issue.

As of right now, he's 23 and goes out and gets drunk and people like to take pictures of him. I don't think there's anything to worry about until he starts getting into legal trouble or it affects his on-ice performance.

But to have a little fun, I would be alright with a Girardi, Stepan/Kreider + trade for Kane. I love the team the Rangers have put together.

That may be the best Kane trade I have seen on HF

Hawks get young #2 C and top 4 dman who fits type of guy we need on our backend

Yes, actually he is, Kane just happens to get alot more quality PP time, plus Ryan is a physical player and is never causing trouble like Kane seems to do

Yea, that's it, lump all the Sabres fans in one big generalizing ignorant sounding pool

Don't racists, homophobes, and sexists do the same thing?
