Overall, it's pretty even. I think the Rangers lean more towards defense with an offense that's set to grow in coming years, and I think the Kings lean more towards offense with a very underrated defensive side (I think Rob Scuderi is the most underrated defensive player in the entire league). Overall, even right now, and I'll take the Rangers because they're younger.
as a group of 6, its tough to be any better than the Kings. 3 young guys with 3 veterans, 3 lefties with 3 righties, 3 puck movers with 3 stay at home, 4 of them can play point on the pp, 4 of them are superb pk'ers, all of them are above average for their position around the league.
the rangers have a really good defense now and in the future, but I think the kings defense has been more proven. like somebody mentioned above, 3 young guys, 3 veterens, 3 puck movers, 3 defensive, 3 lefty, 3 righty. thats a really good defensive core. I don't know what the rangers defense prospects are like, but the kings have loads of defensive talent in the pipeline as well.
