Hockey equipment/jerseys in the Buffalo area?

Hi. As some of you know, I moved to the Buffalo area. I don't know my way around yet, but I picked up a Sabres jersey like this one:

However it is #81, but it doesn't have Satan. I was wondering if anyone would know a good place to go to have the name taken off, and have another put on for a fair price and a quality job done? Thanks guys

Admins feel free to redirect this. I couldn't find a jersey thread anywhere.

I've heard lots of great things about Dave and Adams. Next time I'm in Buffalo I plan on stopping in to get a new jersey.

Last I knew they deal with the same people that do the Sabres store work. So I suspect they wont have to ship it far

I know there's a poster on here who works for Dave and Adam's. Sabresfan###### (some number I forget). You could try PM'ing him and he can probably let you if they can do it or not (I suspect they can).

FYI the name plate is not only stitched but ironed on, there's a chance the jersey could rip or be damaged when removing it.

Of course. You can sew anything. It just might look a bit...off.

As for where to take it to make it happen, it's Dave and Adams. Like LDS said, sabresfan3383 works for them and can definitely help you out. If he can't do it, it's likely for a reason and he will likely have the answers you need.

PM him, he's a good guy.

I'm assuming the rip would be where the nameplate was, or near it. But it's no big deal because unless its a big rip I wouldn't think it'd be that bad. I don't know why someone would put "J. NEAL" on the back. On ebay it was advertised as "CCM Authentic James Neal Sabres Jersey" So I'm gonna switch to Miro Satan

I'll shoot him a message. Thank you guys for the help!

Maybe it's James Neal's former jersey as a kid? A while back I posted something about Logan Couture growing up a Sabres fan, maybe Neal was too and had his own name put on a Sabres jersey years ago? Or one of his junior teams was the Sabres and that's the jersey he wore?

Ok, I know it's unlikely, but it makes more sense than someone putting J Neal on there for no reason at all.

And as far as damage from the name plate, the only time I've ever seen this be a problem is when the new name plate going on is smaller than the original and it doesn't cover up the damage, or if it happens right where the name plate seam is and it doesn't stitch right. This is generally why you'll see unsold but out of date jerseys from former players sell for $30 bucks online or on the clearance rack in sporting goods stores. If it was easy to rename and number the jerseys, they'd just do that and sell them again at full price.

More likely, some random guy with first name J and last name Neal got a personalized jersey and now realizes how stupid it was and decided to get rid of it.

The jersey gets to me monday/tuesday. Hopefully the nameplate that goes on after J NEAL is stripped is bigger. or at least the same size so it looks good.

Actually im worried that it may not have a nameplate and that the letters are on thejersey. Im not sure when nameplates were first incorporated.

I can see the outline of the nameplate in the picture you posted.
