Their head scout said this on Ottawa radio: he's the one who isn't sold on Galchenyuk, which is why he is constantly ranked in this range. Apparently this has been a source of significant debate during ISS meetings.
So his opinion outweighs everyone else's who works there? That's a bit of a faulty system, if that's the case.

If everyone else at ISS thinks Galchenyuk should be top 5, but the "boss" thinks he should be outside the top 10, and thus he gets ranked outside the top 10, that's not really an accurate portrayal of what ISS actually thinks of him.

In any case, if Galchenyuk is around at 14, he's going to be a steal for whatever team is drafting around then.

It's also not an accurate portrayal of the other players either from an ISS point of view because the head scout's opinion trumping all of his lower companions, moves other players up and down the board a spot, all because of one person's opinion.

Those who are regular listeners to the show will know this already but for the benefit of those who are new to the program or have never heard it before: We have our annual draft special slated for June 19th.

The head scout from ISS, Ross MacLean, has been joining us for a segment every second Saturday all season long. on June 19th he'll be in studio with us for the entire 2-hour show. We'll be taking your questions via email (pipeup@theteam1260.com), text (101260) and Twitter (@thepipelineshow) so you might want to start planning ahead.

Cheers!

- Guy
You know what sucks about the Saturday morning show? Friday night! I need some sort of program to auto-start streaming it.
I'm not surprised that Galchenyuk is ranked where he is. Lots of players that were ranked highly the summer before their draft drop. Sean Couturier was ranked 1/2 and he dropped down to 8.
Glad to see Henrik Samuelsson not in the top 30. Hopefully the Oilers can snag him at 31

If Galchenyuk falls to the flames at 14th I will dance on my street naked shouting his name, that said, he won't last past 6th. He could very well end up being the best player in the draft.

As long as its not Feaster doing it

Couturier had a better pre-draft season than Grigorenko and he dropped to 8th, so I wouldn't be surprised if Galchenyuk(who didnt have a season at all) dropped out of the top 10. Other players like Fowler, Cherepanov(RIP), and Esposito also dropped

EVERYONE:

See post #1 in this thread. I have to apologize for an error in posting the top 30. I mistakenly used the mid-May ranking from 2 weeks ago.

The adjustment has been made, the correct final ranking is now up. HERE

Again, sorry for my blunder.

- Guy

I doubt Galchenyuk gets by both Montreal and Toronto. Probably will be drafted by T.O.

The big difference is that Henrik Samuelsson jumped into the top 30, a rise of about 23 spots, after his play in the WHL playoffs and the Memorial Cup.

He's not even ranked. Where did you see #30. I guess that'll make you even more disappointed in the rankings.

He was before I fixed my error. He just got bumped out by Samuelsson leaping into the top 30.
