Datysuk's kid is adorable

http://dchesnokov.tumblr.com/post/24...rs-to-his-eyes

This is the baby he and his wife had after the 2002 cup, halfway grown...although I'm questioning the intepretation of some of that as he is hardly left speechless.

He stopped mid-speech and started trembling for a second in order to get his composure back.

That was really something to watch...

I don't really have a word for it. But I guess as a younger guy, the prospects of having a daughter later on in life is the scariest thing in the world. Seeing something like that, it doesn't look so bad.

She'll be 16 in 6 years. Suddenly taking her to practices won't be so fun anymore when he has to start fighting off the younger players who are eyeing her.

I thought Pavel didn't have kid(s) but then again he keeps his private life just that - private.

She is not alone in thinking Pavel Datsyuk can do anything. That was pretty awesome. Curious and I realize we are suppose to stay away from a lot of gossip about the personal stuff but where was his wife?

I forget where it was mentioned, yet I seem to remember hearing that Datsyuk and his wife Svetlana quietly divorced a year or two back, and that his daughter has stayed with her mother while he is busy playing for the Wings.

Divorce then Lokomotiv? Has been a rough couple years for Pavel outside of the hockey world. I think he is going to go back to Russia when his contract expires. I wouldn't mind either he's given us more than we could ask for.

On topic though, his daughter is a sweetheart and she clearly makes him very happy. Pavel is a man who definitely has his priorities straight and is very smart as well. It shows with his child.

Great guy. I'm glad he could play for us.
