Toronto-Vancouver

To Toronto:

Ryan Kesler
Roberto Luongo
Alex Edler

To Vancouver:

Jake Gardiner
Luke Schenn
1st(5th overall)
Tyler Bozak

Now don't wanna get flamed but Toronto and Van have been in talks, and it's probably only for Luongo but let's just say Kesler is unhappy and wants to leave(Toronto needs that #1 center). Luongo is for sure on his way out.

I don't want to trade Gardiner but he'd be needed to be in this package for it to work. I like Edler and it seems some Van fans want him gone.

Once again this is pretty unrealistic just trying to see if it works. Van fans would you be happier do it if Schultz wanted to sign in Van but to seal the deal would be having Gardiner there to make a pairing.

Hamhuis-Bieksa
Gardiner-Schultz

Feedback.

You gotta look at it this way:

Gardiner and probably Schultz make future top pairing.

5th overall can get you Grigo, Gally or Forsberg who will replace 2nd line C in a season and top line C when Sedins retire. Bozak fills in 2nd line C in the meantime. Schenn also a nice young shutdown D-Man. Schneiders there to replace Luongo.

Vancouver says no again and again until the leafs win the cup, aka never ever.
Vancouver isn't rebuilding, this makes no sense for them, apart from the skewed value.
And who wants Edler gone? 49 points as a defenseman is huge! Every nucks fan would hate to part with him unless Shea Weber is involved.

LOL how does Toronto say no?

5th overall pick doesnt make up for it

Thats like Canuck fans saying this:

Raymond, Tanev, Ballard, and the 26th overall pick for Kessel, Gardiner, and Reimer

One of the worst proposals I have ever seen! I bet this makes puck daddys blog for worst HF trade of the week.
Mods should close this pretty fast

I see this as a pretty fair deal for both teams, yes Kesler is a very good 2nd line centreman but VAN gets two young dmen and the 5th over all with a chance to get a good fwd player in Grigs, Galchenyuk or Forsberg. Looks pretty fair to me.

I've seen him in numerous trade proposals ever since his horrible playoff performance.

Leafs fans over-value their players and undervalue all other players when discussing trades.

Honestly, if Leafs assets were so ******* good why has the team missed the playoffs for so many years in a row?

Get real. This proposal is laughable on all fronts.

I can't really blame you for that, but our entire team minus goalies played badly. Yes Edler flipped the puck over the glass, but Hamhuis gave the puck away that ended our playoff run. We'd still love to keep both of them, but right now Edler is an asset that *might* be traded.

That doesn't stop the OP from being horrendous. Take off Bozak and Kesler and it would at least have the semblance of fair value.

That's a terrible proposal for Canucks.

It's just as bad as Gardiner, Schenn and 5th for Luongo.

And Bozak doesn't make up that aggregate difference.

Proposals like this are the reason why theres the stereotype that leafs fans overvalue their own players.

Luongo and Tanev

for

Gardiner and 5th overall

That's as fair as it's gonna get.

Tanev is one of the better defensive prospects in the game. Shutdown defenseman and a premier number goalie to get you into the playoffs.

Tanev an undrafted free wallet prospect for Gardiner? Luongo alone isn't worth 5th overall with age and contract

Instead of an official Luongo thread, why doesn't somebody make an official Vancouver - Toronto thread?
