Crosby is THAT amazing!

Hey, I watched the first 2 premilinary Junior Champs game and Crosby is really THAT good from what I've seen so far. I haven't had the chance to see him play and i'm truly amazed by his play. I know that Canada has played against weak teams but Crosby's effort is what surprised me the most. He goes to corners, always battle for the puck and is unbeatlable 1 on 1. He is like a mixed Koivu-Kariya. I can't wait to see with which team he's gonna end with this summer.

our only chance to have him is that he became a free agent.... i bet a lot of people would put a lot of pressure on bob gainey to sign him....

Probably, but Crosby is a Hab fan. Maybe, while hes young that may lure him to us over money.....i doubt it though, but possible!!

I think he would want to play for a team he really admires because he did after all turn down a 7 milllllion dollar contract in the WHA or whatever it was called. He seems to have common sense, which meens he could decide to play for us

crosby loves the habs and is very much a quebecer.... if it came down to him being a free agent he would be a hab in a second.

I'd play for the Habs. Personnaly, I don't think that there is much of a difference between 2 millions and 4 millions. I'd rather play for the Habs all my carreer for 30 millions and staying close to my family and friends than going to NY or Detroit or whatever for 60 millions. Once I have a fortune over 5 millions, I'd rather have fun than making more money. I don't understand why NHL players always go with a rich team.

Money drives people and makes the world go round........and once you get a taste, you want more.

Trust me, ive seen it happen to the most humble of people. Untill your put in that situation, you really cant say "never"

Edit: you dont thin that 2 mill and 4 mill is a big diff? Going from 2 to 4 mill is a 100% increase.......thats huge and just imagine how much more you could make on interest accumulated over a long period of time if invested properly........

It's just that with 2 millions/year, I would have enough money to buy anything I want and have a happy life

Not really.

You can bet your money on there being a hard cap with no bonus money for rookies under a new CBA.

And there would need to be a CBA for any team to sign any players.

Which would mean that if Crosby and the whole 05 draft were to become free agents, the first rounders would get the max available from any of the 30 teams but would sign where they most want to live or in some rare cases with which team they most want to play for.

Crosby...best since Mario Lemieux?

I've watched enough of Crosby to be quite certain about one thing...he's so much fun to watch.
M.Lemieux was so much fun to watch during his peak years (even now).
It may be too early but what the heck...Crosby might be way better than Kariya, better than Thornton, Lecavalier...time will tell, of course!
People always said Kariya was fun to watch at the World Juniors, I agree. But, Kariya was not even close to what I've been seeing from Crosby.
This "Next One" kid makes everything look so easy + he's not a softie. He's got amazing natural talent. His got some grit + he's oozing of talent. I'd say he's something between Forsberg and Kariya. Better than Kariya, as good as Forsberg (maybe better? more moves?), but probably won't be as physical as Forsberg + he doesn't need to. In his 1st year of NHL (whenever it comes back!), I predict Crosby can attain 55-60 pts or more (if he plays a full season + has good linemates). After that the sky's the limit.
I can't remember the last time a junior player was this fun to watch...

How hypocritical would it be to sign Crosby to a huge contract?

forget it.. if he's to be a free agent, he'll be a Leafs

that's sad, but the Leafs seem to want him bad...

And money IS everything, unless you already have tons of it. Which is not Crosby's case
