Someone may one day push Theo...

Interesting to see that two of the young goalies discussed in the Junior Worlds thread are Halak and Heino-Lindberg, both of whom are late round picks of the Canadiens. They have the makings of a Theo-type goalie (both 5'11", as is Theo), apparently starting for their national team, and perhaps one of them will push Theo sooner than later. They are both looking like inspired drafts, and an endorsement of the best-player-available philosophy, at a time when we had Theo and Garon on the team.

Both of these guys look like keepers and i'm happy to have them in our system they should be abl to challenge in north america pretty soon and maybe one of them will be au futur Theodore.

It not a matter of "If" but rather "when" he will get challenged. We have a few goalies that may step it up for our Big club and Theo needs to work hard for his spot to prove he will be our #1 for a while. I'm not talking about right now, because there is no hockey and all our prospect goalies are too young but in a few years watch out...

Heino-Lindberg has impressed me the first time I saw him at the development camp in Pierrefonds. He's super fast and cover his angles very very effectivly.

He will be an NHLer for sure.

He's my favourite habs prospect.

The only thing I don't like about him is that he looks like a Hanson brothers (the teens that sing and look like girls).

Brings up a question. Was Loic Lacasse (ranked 24th among N.A. goalies) the BPA when selected at 181 in 2004?

I'm not a great goaltender scout, but saw Lacasse two weeks ago, and he sucked. Dulac looked pretty solid though.

I want to correct one thing and that is:
Heino-lindberg is not 5`11 he is 6`0
and 179 lbs it´s a little difference but important

Danis and Lindberg both have starter potential imo. It's all about developement at this point though.

I don't think so. It's hard to select the BPA when you're in the sixth round so you go by who's still there tath won't suck and waste our time.

Well, I was shocked that they drafted him ahead of Ellis-Plante. If I were Trevor Timmins, I would appologize to Ellis-Plante. What a stupid pick, really what were they thinking?

They told themselves "he's bigger than a proven #1 goaltender in the Q so let's take him instead."

What's surprising in that, we've come to the point of picking guys like Valabik who can't skate in the hope that they could become a Chara. Why not hope for Lacasse to become Khabibulin, no matter how many flaws there are in his game..

The NHL is worse than the NBA when it comes to size(height) obsession.

really... sometimes, I think that our scouting staff needs a kick in the nuts. Lacasse, Linhart and Urquhart... Those picks are laughable and I'm being very kind.

Personally , I hated the Linhart pick.He was picked very early imo , same for Urquhart.I can't beleive guys like Fritshe,Bergeron were available.I don't know about Lacasse , He's playing in a very weak team.

Yes, Urquhart was taken pretty early, but I wouldn't give up on him becoming a solid NHL player in the next couple of years. His game is not bad at all, and if he can fill out physically, then we'll have ourselves another nice prospect.
