1-0 Peru.

I haven't seen Argentina playing this bad in a long time.

Mexico are the first team from CONCACAF to qualify for the 'hex' after a 1:0 victory over Costa Rica. Chicharito scored the only goal of the match, not an exciting game in all honesty, Costa Rica offered very little but Mexico also didn't play too great

interesting results today in South America which makes the table even more interesting

Chile - Colombia 1:3
Uruguay - Ecuador 1:1
Paraguay - Venezuela 0:2
Peru - Argentina 1:1

1, Argentina 7 14
2. Colombia 7 13
3. Ecuador 7 13
4. Uruguay 7 12
-----------------------
5. Chile 7 12
-----------------------
6. Venezuela 8 11
7. Peru 7 7
8. Bolivia 7 4
9. Paraguay 7 4

1st to 6th only separated by three points, Paraguay are pretty much out of World Cup contention, they will miss their first World Cup since USA 94. It is important to note that Venezuela has played 8 matches instead of the 7 the rest of the teams have played

Argentina vs Peru was the worst game of the day.

I don't think Messi touched the ball all game. Near the end of the game, Argentina players were just trying to waste time as much as they knew they sucked all game. Very disappointing.

He ran over his own ankle and broke it(yeah, you read that right). He should be back soon as he was schedule to be out for 6 months and it's been about 6 months.

As for the match today, what a sickening performance by Peru. Made the Paraguay game look like a walk in the park. Hopefully, Gago isn't hurt too bad but it looked like he got knocked out for a couple of seconds. The ref was an absolute joke as well but a draw is probably fair, even if Argentina lost they would have no reason to complain about the scoreline.

pretty straight foward results in CONCACAF; Mexico have already qualified for the Hex while Costa Rica need a result in El Salvador to keep their hopes alive

Group 1

United States - Jamaica 1:0

1. USA 4 7 +2
2. Guatemala 4 7 +2
3. Jamaica 4 7 +1
4. Antigua/Barbuda 4 1 -5

Group 2
Mexico - Costa Rica 1:0
Guyana - El Salvador 2:3

1. Mexico 4 12 +6 [qualified for Hex]
2. El Salvador 4 5 0
3. Costa Rica 4 4 +1
4. Guyana 4 1 -7

Group 3
Panama - Canada 2:0
Honduras - Cuba 1:0

1. Panama 4 9 +4
2. Honduras 4 7 +2
3. Canada 4 7 0
4. Cuba 4 0 -6

Argentina crushed Uruguay 3-0. Messi played a great game scoring 2 goals. Cavani, Suarez and Forlan barely touched the ball.

Guyana's stadium is probably being used, or there is some sort of problem with it.

Colombia continue to roll; both Chile and Uruguay with heavy defeats and continue to struggle

Bolivia - Peru 1:1
Ecuador - Chile 3:1
Colombia - Paraguay 2:0
Argentina - Uruguay 3:0

1. Argentina 8 17
2. Colombia 8 16
3. Ecuador 8 16
4. Uruguay 8 12
------------------------------
5. Chile 8 12
------------------------------
6. Venezuela 8 11
7. Peru 8 8
8. Bolivia 8 5
9. Paraguay 8 4

Pretty much its the top 6 fighting for 5 spots, technically Peru is still alive but it will be an uphill struggle for them

October 16
Bolivia vs. Uruguay
Venezuela vs. Ecuador
Paraguay vs. Peru
Chile vs. Argentina

after a legit scare of not making to HEX, Costa Rica win a match in El Salvador and only need a win at home to Guyana to advance.

Mexico were scoring for fun against Guyana once the first goal fell

Anyone else think Hoilett is waiting to see who of Canada/Jamaica will get knocked out of qualifs before choosing?

Man, what a game between Argentina and Uruguay. I don't know which goal was the best out of the 3? If I had to choose I guess it would be the free kick goal.

Argentina were in fine form today or was it Uruguay that was just terrible? The truth probably lies somewhere in the middle. Uruguay rarely if ever threatened Romero. All in all it was a great game to watch if you're a fan of Argentina. Here's the highlites. Messi is now the best FK taker in the world.

I think I saw somewhere that his playing in Germany when he was younger made him ineligible for England

Uruguay were terrible. They looked scared to leave their own half and probably were going for a scoreless draw.

Uruguay were freakin horrible. Cannot make passes to save their lives. Argentina deserved to score like 3 more goals with how much they dominated.

Forlan is useless right now. Doesnt pass well, doesnt mark, doesnt score. Why is he in the line-up? Especially since we went out to the defend the whole game.

Uruguay have no depth, they will still qualify I think but they won't be anywhere near as good as the 2010 WC and the last Copa America

Ecaudor have done their job at home, now if they can get away results they will probably make it as well

Would love to see Venezuela qualify. Would that be their 1st world cup?

Yes, they are the only CONMEBOL nation to never qualify for the World Cup, even Bolivia have as recently as 1994. Venezuela were minnows only 10 years ago, they have improved a lot in the past few years and more of their players are going to Europe (Arango, Rondon, Amorebieta)
