While I wouldn't even think of comparing quick to Brodeur's career, you're really underselling Quick. He's already proven to be able to carry his team to the playoffs at least two years in a row. He could easily end up fading away, but it's pretty bad form to act like he could be Mason.
But the fact remains that he has a lot to prove before even reaching Marty's level. Yes, he looks to be a great goalie who has long term potential. It just doesn't make any sense to mention or assume that he could reach Marty's level at this point. We're talking years and years of winning.

As I said in the first sentence of the post you quoted. The issue I'm taking is your post reads like "Quick isn't even close to Brodeur's career, therefore he will have a meh career." Quick has a long way to go, but 15 years ago the exact same thing could have been said about Brodeur having a career like Brodeur.

Like you said...he could fade away. Then again, he could do big things. Time will tell and that's the key. It's just too damn early for people (not you specifically) to start making any kind of comparisons when Quick has so far to go still is all.
I really wanted to see the Kings win The Cup in front of their fans AND keep their road record perfect. Now they can only attain one of those goals.
Lousy stinking no good rotten Swamp Gas Bags.
Yeah, I'm getting tired of road teams winning. Haven't had a home team win since '07, and I don't really acknowledge the legitimacy of that franchise/series, so you basically have to go back to the Hurricanes in '06. It's been a long time.
