Meh. I saw it either way. Did a lot of people miss the game?

I hope they put game 4 on NBC as well. It needs to be widely available. All 7 games of the Cup Finals should be on broadcast TV rather than on Versus.

Just remembered an episode of The Tonight Show with Jay Leno from a number of years ago when he played "Prescription pain killer or hockey player?"

Kopitar

I think a little over half the audience said hockey player but there were a good amount of people who said medication.

So, the possible deciding game in the Stanley Cup Finals is less important than whatever soon-to-be-cancelled crap NBC is airing on Wednesday nights? Yep, makes sense.

Since it's summer lineups, I don't think it really has anything to do with what's on NBC. I think it's just a ploy to grow their two-bit cable network by holding the Cup hostage.

Eh, cable can have the conference finals. But I want to watch Game 4 on NBC proper, so I can actually see the cup, if awarded, in HIGH DEF.

4-0 at the end of the first, devils visibly give up (aside from a couple players) and kings play no-risk hockey the rest of the game.

True, I didn't even think about summer lineups because it feels like summer kind of snuck up out of nowhere.

I just wish they'd give the Cup the exposure it deserves.

And that's OK. As the NBCSN grows, it'll only benefit the NHL. I think the Summer Olympics will be huge in that regard. And if the NHL and the NHLPA weren't stupid, they would advertise the hell out of the game and the upcoming season during the Olympics. But we know it won't happen...

I mentioned this a few pages back, but I have actually spoken to someone from LA who doesn't watch hockey, who was going to watch games 3 and 4 but didn't have the network and just gave up. This is absolutely hurting the NHL; they are missing out on and in some cases alienating new fans.

I'm really hoping that the summer games coming up this year is the kick in the pants Cable One needs to add Versus in HD already.

Then all they would need to do would be to add NHL Network *AT ALL*, and drop their ridiculous monthly data caps to a point where I could actually subscribe to NHL gamecenter without a real fear of going over and paying out the ass in overages, and I MIGHT actually be a happy hockey fan next year.

God dammit I hope Midcontinent gets its ass in gear and finds a way to get in my building over the summer.

Cable One just blows.

I hear ya on the cable stuff. I will have to move in the next 6 months, and I do not know if I can find a place that has Direct TV available instead of local cable. I have grown to really like Direct TV.

I can't believe NBC wouldn't put the SC final games on their spots network instead of just normal NBC. Very interesting way to start out a long partnership.

If you cant find a place that has a south facing balcony, find a place that at least has Midcontinent. Their lineup is about as close to DirecTV as Cable can get in this region, and the internet speeds are nice, fast, and uncapped, so you can get the Gamecenter package online.

For the record, game 3 and 4 of every SCF has always been on Versus/NBCSN. Nothing new.

The rest is on NBC. The only difference this year is the score.

I think GF is all Midcontinent as far as cable goes, so that shouldn't be a problem.

The south facing balcony is what it's about though. It is out of the wind in the wintertime so you can crack it for some fresh air without dying of frostbite.

And I've always complained that the Cup-clinching game could be on premium cable. The only difference this year is that there's a decent chance of that happening.

So the Game 4 telecast has started... in glorious STANDURRRRR DEFINISHUN.

Were I in a position where I could have forced NBC to show this game over-the-air, I would have done so.

I wonder if there's some universe out there in the multiverse where I'm in charge. Even as insane as I am, I have to think I would be better than the clowns we're stuck with in this universe.
