Quick is beatable, its just getting the chances is the tough task. You have to wait til he goes down and either pass it off to a player on the side or shoot high. Youre not gonna score on him with first shots, so its gonna be garbage goals or tips he doesnt see.

Proof on the devils goal today. Quick wasnt able to see the redirect in time.

You are discounting the fact that one of NJ's strengths throughout the playoffs is that it has great depth - aka a productive 4th line. Most teams don't. LA's back checking is potent - especially against your top guns. Look at their physical size...

I am so furious it was that ****ing ******* that got the goal. I'm so ******* frustrated when I shouldn't be, because I couldn't be more proud of this team and getting to this point.

I still believe, Devils. Take 2 of 2 in LA. I know you can do it.

It's the Stanley Cup Final and we have two goals.

One by Anton Volchenkov.

One by Ryan Carter.

It should be no shock we are down 2-0, it hurts waaaay more that we are down 2-0 after 2 OT losses at home, but it's simple - we blew our ****ing load in the ECF, that's really the only explanation I have watching these guys. Some of them still think we are playing that team too - dishing out to the point time and time again and passing to get away from a non existent shot blocker

You are discounting the fact that our Top 6 hasn't done diddly squat in 2 games. I'm glad our 4th line is productive, but they should NEVER be the focal point of our scoring.

I'm sure this thread is filled with negativity.

Just want to say, I love this team no matter what happens. Even if we get swept.

I'm still on the optimism train though.

They are passing to force quick into movement. If they don't shot block Quick sees everything coming.

There is a method to the madness!

Thisthisthisthisthis.

Think Game 5 vs NYR. The top lines score the bulk, the fourth line ices the cake. By no means should we be counting on the fourth line to be scoring all of our goals. That's just ridiculous.

Stop watching NJ on the rush and watch LA back check and you will get why your top guns aren't scoring.

Anyone think we'll see any line-up changes next game?

I sort of want to see Larsson or Tallinder back in the line-up. Might not hurt putting Petr Sykora in either.

We're barely on the rush, which is a big reason why we cannot get a legitimate possession out of most of our lines. That's all well and dandy, but your best players can be your best players no matter the circumstances. I do expect better out of Parise, Kovalchuk, Elias, Zajac and others because they are our top 6. Patty's one point came when he was on the 3rd line, so technically, our top 6 has 0 points so far. It is unacceptable. It's not to take anything away from LA, it's just how it's gone so far. They need to be better.

I still love this team, don't get me wrong. Jeff Carter has just made me so frustrated to no end now.

Despite the Kings being road warriors these playoffs I am very surprised they took both here, but I'm still optimistic in taking two in LA, but the first one is going to be tough because of the travel, we would have been better playing the game last night and taking two days before game three.

You gotta believe man, if the Mets can throw a no-hitter, we can come back and win this.

I'm not discounting their depth. I'm saying the star players need to step it up. It's great getting contributions from the fourth line and defensemen who normally don't score, but at some point the guys getting paid big money to score need to do just that. The Kings stars have come through. Kopitar, Carter, and Doughty all have goals. The Devils need similar contributions from their stars.

I don't know if he would have mattered but he should have been in the lineup tonight, one of the few moves or non-moves that I think Pete might have wanted to reconsider.

There's passing to get a goalie moving, and then there's this ****.

There was one play Kovy had tonight, came off the point to accept a pass in the high slot....peeled off and dished it to someone with a horrid angle look. Da ****??

They're overthinking. Get it to the good points on the ice and rip it. I swear if I see Zach, Patty or Kovy gain the zone and pull up and look and let the Kings settle in on D I'm gonna break something.

Our best players right now, aren't our best players - they need to find their groove again otherwise that was the last time any of us are in Newark til September
